Re: Crossfire

I think in general we have more interest in those early years than the band members themselves. I've occasionally tried to enlist some band members in helping me reconstruct their discography, but some of them even didn't remember some of the credits I'd found. But some were helpful as well. ...

Re: Crossfire

I'm not sure why you find that so funny. After your memory, they say that the next thing to go is your sense of humor. OK... I'm still not sure why you find it so funny that Louie is unable to accurately recall past events. And given your above comment, are you suggesting that he is becoming addled...

Re: Stand

"Stand in the Gap" is possibly my all-time favorite Petra song.

Listening to some of the samples...

Re: Stryper question

Just for interesting perspective. I did the math and found that Michael wrote 84% of the songs on all Stryper albums. It's actually probably slightly higher because I did not eliminate songs that were borrowed from other groups, like Shining Star and Peace of Mind. On the songs that had co-writers,...

Re: Stryper question

http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/ex-stryper-bassist-tim-gaines-slams-michael-sweet-tells-his-former-bandmates-to-grow-some-balls/ Wouldn't be the first time someone was booted from a band for letting their personal life get in the way of their career. Perhaps the most high-profile example was Steve...

Can't wait to hear it. I think Bob is an underrated guitarist.

Re: CPR

OK, I get that. I probably like Sabaton because they sound like an 80's hair-metal band.

Re: CPR

It is very hard for males beyond their 20s to be impressed with new music, especially from their favorite bands. I'm not sure why you say that. I thought Jekyll & Hyde was awesome, and that came out when I was in my 30s (holy crap, was it really that long ago?!). I love the recent stuff Steve Taylo...

Re: CPR

Without Bob Hartman's involvement, it's going to be really hard to sell this as a Petra album -- which is essentially what they're trying to do. I don't think anybody is fooled by the "CPR" name (which I still think stands for "Classic Petra Redux"). And seeing how Classic Petra only really appealed...

Re: Neal Schon Blasts Bandmates for Meeting With Trump

Neal Schon always struck me as a bit of a jerk. Claiming that he's only about the music is BS. I remember him saying in an interview that when Cain and Perry demoed "Open Arms" for the band, Schon hated the song because he didn't think it lent itself to a strong guitar part. There are also rumors th...

Re: My bootleg tribute to 30 years of TMW

That old school sword logo was the coolest thing ever and gave the band a real identity. I was sad to see it retired when the Elefante Bros. started producing the albums.

I thought Petra was done after Bob left...
As I've mentioned before, Bob never really left. He stopped touring, but he was still an active member of the band through producing, writing songs, and performing in the studio.
