Re: Pushing too many boundaries

Stryper lost their mystique decades ago, and people today have a pretty good idea exactly who they are and what they're about, so this play on words isn't particularly shocking, nor do I think it's going to be an Against the Law style disaster since now they're playing almost exclusively to a dedica...

Re: Acoustic Classical Hartman - new CD

I think Bob should go all Satriani. I actually said something similar after hearing his dynamite solo on the "Farewell" album. But I also said that Hartman strikes me as far too humble to release an album that's all about himself, so I wasn't really surprised to see his first instrumental release b...

I want Bob to just rock out on us.
He was in a rock band called Petra. Perhaps you've heard of them?

Re: Ever wonder?

Visions is incredible and might even be better than anything Vangelis recorded (and I say that as someone who is a huge fan of Vangelis). Kinda makes you wish John Slick had done a solo album, doesn't it?

Well, The Union Of Sinners And Saints are finishing up their sophomore album...
Their upcoming LP is not quite a "sophomore album." It's more of a "Best Of..." off their debut album with a new "Unplugged Medley" thrown in the mix.
So no new songs? That's disappointing.

What if John Elefante & JDB collaborated on a dream team production.
They have such drastically different and even mutually exclusive producing styles that I can't even wrap my head around how such a collaboration would work.

Re: Ever wonder?

Hey people, I often wonder how 1983 Petra band would have sounded if produced by the Elefantes, and 1990 Petra would have sounded produced by JDB....which would have worked better? Would the great 2nd wind success of the Schlitt era have never occurred? Would the '83 line-up have been considered th...

I love the song. Now let's have them release a full length album!
That would be great. Then they could do a double tour with Union of Sinners and Saints!

Re: Louie BTTS

"first hand knowledge that that is Louie on PPTRCO..." Even though first hand Petra member John Lawry told Brent it was sequenced. Chris Mchugh was at WUC sessions for "moral support"??? sounds like an "intervention"....Bob H. "Louie, we need you to come down to the studio..." Louie shows up, the w...

Re: Louie BTTS

Was "I Will Call Upon The Lord" from Petra Praise an actual live track, or was that studio magic as well? The drums do not sound organic to me, but the crowd noise seems real, especially the singing. If so, did Louie play on that song? That's an interesting question, but since they recreated that t...
