Re: Louie BTTS

As far as I know, Bob played extensively if not exclusively on every studio album from their self-titled debut up through "Back To The Rock", and of course it's 100% Bob on the three live albums.

Re: Newsboys Reunion??

What exactly does a "reunion" mean for a band like this that has had well over a dozen members over the years? Which line-up is reuniting?

Re: GXV Covering John Schlitt's Petra

I would love to hear Greg cover Back to the Street. Beyond that it simply doesn't interest me. Yes, I really don't think Volz's voice is well-suited for the edgier stuff that was written for Schlitt, and while Schlitt does a respectable job covering Volz's songs, his straight-ahead vocal style lack...

One thing that you can't deny this album is band driven. It's a refreshing alternative to the heavier production driven records of the past.
What does that mean? It has a less polished mix?

Re: Louie BTTS

As far as I know, the only studio albums Louie actually got to play on was "More Power To Ya", "The Rock Cries Out", "Wake Up Call", "No Doubt", "Petra Praise 2", "God Fixation", "Double Take", and "Revival". From "Not Of This World" to "Unseen Power" he just did overdubs. I didn't realize he was o...

My wife instructed me not to buy it since she wants to get it for me for Christmas.

Re: CPR

The more I listen to the samples the more I like them. That's a fairly well-known phenomenon, that the more you're exposed to something, the more you will prefer it. I've read stories of studio heads who would avoid this by only listening a demo tape once, and if they weren't immediately hooked, th...

Re: CPR

OK, I've listened to the samples, and... um... are these demos, or final mixes? Because they sound like unfinished demos, or like a low-rent tribute band. The mix is flat, there's no "pop", and, quite frankly, Greg sounds bored, and the instrumentation is uninspired, like everybody was just going th...

Re: CPR

"Back to the Rock" was fun, well-produced, and had energy. I haven't listened to these samples yet, but the way you folks are describing it, it sounds like a bunch of has-beens trying to recapture their glory days. It strikes me as unnecessary. Meanwhile, I'm waiting for the next release from Union ...

Re: Crossfire

I think in general we have more interest in those early years than the band members themselves. I've occasionally tried to enlist some band members in helping me reconstruct their discography, but some of them even didn't remember some of the credits I'd found. But some were helpful as well. ...

Re: Crossfire

I'm not sure why you find that so funny. After your memory, they say that the next thing to go is your sense of humor. OK... I'm still not sure why you find it so funny that Louie is unable to accurately recall past events. And given your above comment, are you suggesting that he is becoming addled...
