Well, admittedly...

Burnlounge is a company that is BARELY 6 months old... and from what I can tell, the marketing is primarily twofold and is designed to spread by a community driven, word of mouth approach. Basically unheard of before (in fact I even read somewhere here that Petra only gets a few cents for every CD s...

Eye candy? Ooooh, I feel so cheap and tawdry... as if there's no use for me beyond my staggering good looks. But hey, if being professionally good looking like Derek Zoolander is my lot, I accept it. Seriously though, I play keyboards with Carman. We've actually been touring with a drummer, myself, ...

If I had to pick...

I'd probably say the latter, the little bug-eyed guy. I can imagine it's tough being new to music and not really knowing how to manage a band or how to clearly and specifically define the boundaries of your ministry or vision. I certainly don't want to trash my old band, as I learned a lot, had a jo...

I think this was the record that a lot of my Petra fan friends began to question the direction of the band and began to explore new waters for other bands to listen to. Wouldn't doubt it. I actually ended up hanging with them until God Fix, around the time I was leading worship for a youth group in...

Rick went through a divorce at one point... I can't imagine that it could've been a picnic and would certainly qualify as a rough time. Of course, 'one other lead singer' Scott Douglas went through some really rough times as well... last I heard, he's currently doing very well though and living here...

Sorry Exe...

Yeah, I'd love to see a Whiteheart reunion too, but it's not likely to happen. Rick Florian is and continues to be a very productive realtor here in Tennessee http://www.rixre.com and was actually performing with Billy's group, 'Syphony in Red' that is signed to his (Smiley's) label. Oh, although th...

Admittedly...

... the list was far from complete. Like you pointed out, Schlitt wasn't around (at least I never saw him), and neither was my boss (not that I ever really expect to see him there no matter how old school it gets). I could go down a really long list of people who maybe could have or should have been...

So what you're sayin' is...

you have to be mean or a jerk to end up with a sweet gig? That would hurt my feelings if I thought you felt that way.

Old school!!

Lots of familiar faces from CCM's history were out in force this week here in Nashville... saw Tony Palacios, Jamie Rowe, David Bach, and Karl Ney from Guardian (ALL under the same roof on TWO separate occasions... couldn't they have done Dr. Jones and the Kings of Rhythm just ONCE?), saw PHIL DRISC...

Just saw Greg last night...

...at the Red Iguana here in town, and not much has changed. He said something about looking for a 'real job', which is a shame because that would be such a waste of a great bass player, but he hasn't been getting a whole lot of love here around Nashville... He looked great though and seemed very ha...

Hey Brent... Are you here in Nashville this week and if so, are you headed to the showcase tonight at Club NV where Viktor is playing? Pretty cool lineup including Michael Sweet, Kevin Max, Violet Burning, and even special appearances by Billy Smiley and Rick Florian (formerly of White Heart). In ot...

Absolutely right... and that 83% is based on people who have ever downloaded music on the Internet. The other side of that (and I would imagine the origin of Burnlounge's growth/marketing mentality) is that 9 out of 10 people (that's 90%) in America have never downloaded a song off the Internet at a...

Get used to internet distribution. It is the way 90% of ALL music is sold. One day direct artist to listener purchasing will be the norm. No more middle man. Actually, that day may be here today.
