Re: Classic Petra News

Yes, there are people from many different parts of the world on this forum and patience and grace is always warranted when people use phrases that do not translate well to other languages. "Stand down" would confuse most people who aren't native English speakers, for example. (Actually, that confuse...

Re: The First Petra show of the tour...

This live version of Clean just seems rushed. Isn't it played noticably faster?

Re: ANY WORD?

and I let my kids listen to secular music too. We police it. We ask them what they like about it and talk about it. They see what is unGodly and usually point it out before I get to, because they know the modern slang and the current words with double meanings, etc. I don't know how to say it any w...

Re: ANY WORD?

I believe the reason kids listen to secular music is that their parents listen to it or at least leave their old collection out in the open for their kids to see. It doesn't totally make the difference but it does soften the debate. There is this whole attitude among people that I know, Christian p...

In the interest of harmony I propose the new abbreviation:

TcS

Get it? The first letter of "captured" is IN "time" and "space".

I sincerely hope not. I've always hated medleys. I want to hear entire songs, please.

Re: The Noise We Make: Question

Has anybody here ever question yourselves about what the heck does an excited moaning Hindu or Pakistani woman, has to do with Christ or the Gospel? Never did this thought remotely come to mind. Have you ever asked yourself why you thought this while listening to the song? From what I know, the fir...

Re: Bob's top 10 Guitar solos.

This is a great thread- going to be plenty of different opinions here. 1) He Came , He Saw, He conquered ( for me the way it ends up finishing the song as a sort of counter melody elevates this to number one status. I wish they did more of this sort of thing.) #1 on my list too! Nothing else comes ...

Re: Concert Pictures... maybe you all know this already

Thanks, Boray... as the technology improves, I think the grain will decrease at higher ISO values due to the faster processing and more sophisticated CCDs in the cameras. Just found this on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film_speed : Digital cameras have far surpassed film in terms of sensit...

Concert Pictures... maybe you all know this already

I wasn't at the show last night, but I notice that the photos are did suffer from the difficult light conditions in the room. Low light conditions cause the camera to automatically slow down the shutter to get adequate light exposure. This may have already been tried, but if your camera has the opti...

Re: question for Brent on live recording...

TV Studio performances are often "semi-live" but not always. Playing through a PA as opposed to massive on-stage amps is typical on a soundstage, but it is also happening in live settings. Geddy Lee plays bass through PA and has replaced his mountain of amps with household/industrial appliances to b...

Re: BTTR Must Be Selling Well

In Canada, it is not illegal to download copyrighted music at the moment. The Canadian gov't, however, is developing new intellectual property and copyright laws to tighten it up again. Even under the new statutes though, one can make digital copies of purchased works for personal use. Many people I...
