Re: Today was a Petra day

What I did just recently was burn off all my Petra CD's into "car copies." that way if anything happens to them, I don't have to worry about losing some of my older and rarer ones.

Re: Petra 33's and other Hartman guitars

If I'm not mistaken, ricanrolear, yours is the video clip I saw with the Petra 33! Am I right? If so, beautiful sound coming through that thing! Yeah, I've heard a lot of people mention that the 33 is a Strat sound-alike. Now that you mentioned it, I do remember Bob's website mentioning the Lace Hol...

Re: Petra 33's and other Hartman guitars

Wow, now those are some nice guitars! Sounds like something worth checking out, I'm have to keep that name in mind the next time I get the urge to go guitar hunting. (Which probably won't be for a while; I'm using my 33 as a "practice" guitar before I let loose on the dollars...) I like where the vo...

Re: Petra 33's and other Hartman guitars

I'm actually not too familiar with Carvin guitars, so a couple of pictures would be great, if it's not too much trouble! I'm always interested in hearing about different guitars and how they compare to each other. What kind of amp do you play them through? I sort of remember that flamed maple top gu...

Petra 33's and other Hartman guitars

I know there was a thread about this several years ago, but it kind of got off topic... Anyway, I was doing a little jamming the other night and I found myself wondering, who else here owns a Petra 33 Commemorative or any other Hartman guitar? What do you like/ dislike about them, and how do they co...

Re: Lincoln Brewster

Yes, he has an amazing story! I had to laugh when he told about the first time he ever let loose on his guitar in church... afterwards, a little old lady came up to him, and he sort of cringed, thinking, "Oh, I'm going to get a bawling out," and she just sweetly said, "Mr. Brewster, I just wanted to...

Re: nice items on eBay

I wonder how much I would get on Ebay for the autographed Zoom Tri-Metal TM-01 guitar pedal that Bob used on Jekyll and Hyde......

Just kidding, I wouldn't part with it for any price.....

Re: A quick commentary on John's NFLD concert

The set list was: Gravity God is Too Big The Grafting Only Men The Cross Remains Wake the Dead Beyond Belief I am On the Rock (that one was by special request through Sue though, he may substitute a different song for you guys.) We Worship You Blessed Be Your Name Inside of You (encore) He Came, He ...

Re: Latest on Classic Petra?

I would be more worried about Bob being able to play the same riffs and solos. . Search "Judas' Kiss Live" (the one with John singing) and compare Bob's solo to the original one. I think the new version is just as good or better, so I wouldn't worry about Bob. :P Mr. Magic Fingers can still beat th...

A quick commentary on John's NFLD concert

The following is a commentary that I posted on Facebook following John Schlitt's concert in Victoria Newfoundland on Sept 24. Just thought you might like a look. I kept my eyes glued to the front doors of the Sheila NaGeira Theatre. Seven months of planning and hard work, and now the greatest moment...

Re: Worst songs list

Funny how styles differ, isn't it? Personally, I love Hand on my Heart (used to be the song I'd listen to falling asleep) and Friends (used to jump on the couch to that one, when I was WAAAY younger) Personally, I'd say everything off Double Take I don't like, except maybe The Longing. That one was ...

Lincoln Brewster

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of seeing Lincoln Brewster play live at YC Newfoundland, at the Mile One stadium. I've always really loved his music, but seeing him live was amazing. Unlike some of the other artists, he was all about worship, instead of being focused on the performance. Althou...

Re: Never say: I don't like that Petra Album...

i'll admit it's an album I barely play, although I did really like The Longing. I also liked parts of Just Reach Out. When I perform that song at our youth group, I sing it the way it was originally written, but the last time I do the chorus, I modify it so it sort of sounds like the Double Take ver...
