Re: Awesome Salvation Army find ^_^

Salvation Army stores and thrift shops are something, aren't they?! I found my CD copy of John Lawry's solo album, Media Alert, in one. I always keep my eyes open, I never know when I'm going to find the last thing I need for my collection!

Re: Favorite Praise song covered by Petra.

Yes! Even with all the P&W music out there, this is still my favorite one to listen to at home, when I want to have my own praise & worship. Really feel close to God when I worship to this song. I know the feeling! We used to play that song when we used to have house meetings, and it really brought...

Definitely "I Exalt Thee". Most anointed and powerful version I've ever heard.

Re: Head east cd's

Thanks sue d. Well, you don't have to grow up in the 70s to love that kind of music. I grew up in the 90s/00s, but I listen to a LOT of 70s bands like blue oyster cult, led zeppelin and now head east! But i guess I'm a little weird :) Not really! I grew up around the same time, and to this day my f...

Re: Indiana State Fair Stage Collapse

I remember seeing a video of Bob talking about one time when the stage did collapse when Petra was playing, fortunately the stage was only a foot high so no one was hurt, but the stuff went everywhere. I can't remember what year it was, think it might have been 97 or 87, but my computer won't let me...

Re: BTTR DVD THOUGHTS

Me too CD's all the way. Same here! I have peple asking me why I don't get an ipod or mp3 player for convenience...my answer is, I love the sound of CD's on a really GOOD stereo system, even a good car stereo (my Toyota has a good one 8) ) And I DON'T love the sound of "canned music"...Despite the ...

I remember seeing that floating around somewhere, I think it was on A Guide to Petra? Could be wrong though, not sure if it's still up there.

Re: Band Comments On Petra - what have you heard?

Oh, and Peter Furler from the Newsboys also claims Petra as one of the bands earliest influences. As well as them opening for Petra on a number of occasions, he also stated Petra was probably one of their biggest influences.

Quick Godpleaser question for anyone with a Yamaha keyboard!

This may be a shot in the dark, but does anyone know what style to use when playing Godpleaser? I've tried several rock and alternate voicings, but they all sound wrong! Either they're too fast, or too slow, or they're off in some way. I know the approximate beat, around 90-94 beats, but no style so...
