Re: Bob Hartman Guitars

I have one of the Petra 33 Commemorative guitars he made a few years ago. It's pretty nice, plays very similar to a Fender Strat.

Driftwood Cross

Our church's worship team, which consists of myself and three other members (and occasionally one more) recently released our first CD. Now please take note, this is a VERY local CD done in someone's basement studio, so the mix isn't perfect and it is by no means professional. Our idea was, "We love...

Re: Hand On My Heart: Hate it, don't you?

For years this was my comforting "fall asleep song." I listened to it every night before bed.

Re: Poll: Revival (2001)

I vote for How Long. I'd never heard the song before Petra covered it, and I haven't heard anyone else play it. It was our church's theme song for a couple years, we even had a slideshow made to it. All the songs are pretty good though, I like listening to them in my car. Easy listening music.

I never did figure that one out. I've had the album for years and I still only see a bunch of colors floating around. Never did find out what it's supposed to be, haha.

Re: Poll: Unseen Power (1991)

Ugh, so hard to pick a favorite! I voted for Ready, Willing and Able, since I think it's the best rocker on there... I really like Hand on My Heart though, I used to listen to this every night before I fell asleep as a kid. Oh, and I LOVE I Need to Hear From You. And Hey World has an awesome message...

How weird is it that I've never heard of any of these people? Except Jennifer Knapp. I guess i just naturally tend to prefer male vocalists for whatever reason...

Re: Poll: Petra Praise - The Rock Cries Out (1989)

That's it. This album has female singers on it too. Not exactly Petrafied. I hear what you're saying... I love the album, but female vocalists and rock don't seem to mix... (I can say that because I am a female vocalist who would LOVE to sing rock, but I don't have the voice for it.) There are fema...

My vote is for We Exalt Thee. I felt the Holy Spirit for the first time when I was eight years old, listening to that song. I kept asking my Mom to repeat the song while I cried and cried. Amazing memories. I've never felt the anointing on any song like that one.

Re: Poll: Not of this World (1983)

Have you ever noticed the resemblance between "Stand up" and "Lift him up"? The chorus is very similar. I seem to remember a Petra Youth Choir song with a medley of these two. Saw it on youtube once and then could never find it again... (not sure if Petra youth Choir is the right term, it was a cho...

Re: Poll: More Power to Ya (1982)

Random fun fact... I once sang "Road to Zion" with John Schlitt sitting in the audience. No, I'm not that great of a performer  He was speaking/singing at our church and the opening band were big Petra fans, so they did a few Volz-era songs. John loved it. The lead singer of the band invited me...

Re: Poll: Beat the System (1985)

The first time I heard Witch Hunt, I was expecting something like Judas' Kiss in style... then the song came on. And I laughed so hard I almost cried. I actually loved it, just because it was so different! I'm not really a fan of the album, just because it sounded too overproduced or something. I li...

Re: Any child sponsors out there?

That's great Jan! How wonderful that you're able to keep in touch. Friends of mine were able to visit one of my girls in Rwanda last year and I will be going myself next year; so looking forward to seeing her! She frequently mentions my friends' visit. I'm also hoping to visit my two other girls ove...
