Re: Vynil's Comeback- Interesting

I didn't say that buying records is ridiculous, only buying records of new albums. I do actually own a record player, incidentally. And yeah, the Zune thing is just thrown out there for lols

Re: CPR

I wonder if this French guy's ever heard Greg's version of " Dream On ." I honestly think the GXV version of "Dream On" is really bad especially compared to the original. The Aerosmith version has so much soul & heart to it to where you can feel Steven Tyler's emotions; the GVX version you feel not...

Re: Vynil's Comeback- Interesting

As a young person, I can say for a fact that buying a vinyl record of a new album is totally ridiculous. CD, maybe, but records, no. I personally prefer to have a stable hard copy (not streaming), but not a bulky, useless heap of discs. I think that internet radio and internet downloads are the way ...

Re: Atheist Petra Fans

Come on guys give it up. Curt is right about everything. He's mostly right about everything. However, I should point out that the difference between those "known for Christianity" and those "known for philosophy" is much more basic than it sounds; one is beginning with the assumption that as a bein...

Re: CPR

People usually think songs that are 20-30 years old as "really dated", and ones that are 30-50 years old as "Classic".

Re: CPR

I think it would make more sense to measure a member's presence in a band by recording and concert time rather than time "with the band". The current lineup is more of a theory than an actual thing. They sometimes exist, but usually just disappear. I still hold that a band can only be considered Pet...

Re: CPR

They want to be Classic Petra, but couldn't use the name because "Petra" indicates Bob Hartman. So basically they want you to mentally replace "CPR" with "Classic Petra" by reusing the album name. And this might be a dumb question, but why was it called Back To The Rock in the first place? Was...

Re: GXV Covering John Schlitt's Petra

A songwriter isn't going to be able to change their style overnight, even if they wanted to. So while they already were planning to get a new vocalist (Greg had already announced his departure), they weren't totally prepared for such a drastic change. The only way they could have made the transition...

Re: CPR

I actually heard Volz's version before I ever heard the original, and I thought the original was a terrible joke in comparison first time I heard it. While the Aerosmith version has grown on me, I still consider Volz's "Dream On" to be the definitive version. I recognize that this is not a popular ...

Re: The Union of Sinners & Saints

I really liked all of the songs except for Old Guys Rule. It would have made sense if it were young guys saying it, but since the writers are already old, it seems more like they're tooting their own horns...

Re: remembering Beyond Belief

I didn't even hear Petra until 2012... except for when "Lord, I lift your name on high" used to be played on the radio. I guess I'm the only person here who isn't super old  8)
