Old topic, different slant...
The Greg-vs-John discussion has come up many times, as has the topic of John singing older Greg songs in the Petra catalogue, etc. But... let's talk solo stuff here. Which Greg SOLO songs can you imagine John singing, and vice versa? I'd love to hear John taking on songs like "I Come Out Fighting", ...

Re: Most Underrated Petra Song
To me, "The Water Is Alive" gets way too little attention and would be on my "best of" list if I had to make one. It has never made it, as far as I'm aware, on any official Petra best of album.

On OF and BB, John Andrew Shreiner is listed as "additional keyboards". How much did he really contribute to those albums? Just a few finishing touches on some songs, or most?

Beyond Belief 30 years
It's hard to believe it's 30 years since Petra's "peak" album was released! I became a Petra an in early 1991, so BB was their current album at the time. I hope it gets the treatment it deserves with a re-release, original liner notes, pics (maybe some additional live pics from that era) and all. I ...

Re: CPR Original Material Album
Seeing that Kirk is in the band, and that he played (in part) on some of Greg's early solo albums, maybe they should go for some original material in that style, IF there is a market for it. I'd buy a CPR album (regardless of what the band name means) if there were songs like Greg's first 4 solo alb...

Re: GXV Covering John Schlitt's Petra
I can still hear a few Volz-styled songs on albums after BTTS. I can well imagine him singing "Keneniah" and "The Water is Alive". To me, "Keneniah" is a typical "classic Petra" song with story-telling lyrics, such as "Let everything that hath Breath" had. In my mind I can hear that song with JDB pr...

Re: Louie BTTS
Back to the original question: In a CCM article, Mark was explaining the differences between BTS and BTTS. He said BTS was a producer's record, as neither he or Louie played on it, whereas BTTS was a band record, as ever member played on every track. Here is the link: http://www.johnwschlitt.com/fan...

Re: Live It Loud!
I have a question. In the interview with John Lawry, he mentions him, Bob and Mark visiting Schlitt, etc and then later Louie was "back in the picture". Did Louie leave the band for a while after Greg left and then return when John was hired as the singer? I do know Petra wasn't sure if they would c...

Re: A New Version of "Classic Petra"
Hi all! Greetings from South Africa! I've been following the Zone for a few years now. One song I have really wanted to hear John sing is "Without You I would surely die". When I listen to the original, just by the song structure, I can easily hear the current lineup (or even the dream team) playing...
