Re: Roger Waters and David Gilmour playing Comfortably Numb
Glad you liked it. Whether they are perfectly cool I don't know, but they have played together recently for charity reasons, and both Waters, Gilmour, Nick and Rick (who died a few years ago) got together for live aid in 2005. So at least they are able to play together and seem to get along quite go...

Roger Waters and David Gilmour playing Comfortably Numb
This is legendary! The two old bandmates Roger Waters and David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) recently played together in London. It's always moving to see these guys together on stage, partly because they are excellent musicians, partly bacause of their history. They seem to have put their conflicts behind ...

Re: Petra's Dream Team Sound
The Dream Team Sound strikes me as rather outdated. I'm not saying this is necessarily bad, but in some way I think it is, probably because I don't like the unnatural sound of it. In this context I can't help but to mention Pink Floyds classic record Dark Side Of The Moon. It was released in 1973 an...

Re: White Heart
Freedom was a very good record. They did other good records too. But I was never a big fan of them. It's the same story as with a lot of other christian artists. They make some good records and a lot of records that are not very good, not very interesting. Take Guardians Miracle Mile. Very interesti...

Re: Petra's Dream Team Sound
I agree with Preacherman that the sound was always changing. However I still think there was a quite unique Dream Team Sound that can be heard even though things changed. Well at least until they released Wake Up Call, which sounded quite different than anything they did before that. So in that way ...

Re: I...have a dream.
Well, Brent, your dream has almost come true. Three of those four guys are already playing together, but I still see the difference. The Dream Team (Schlitt, Hartmann, Louie, Lawry, Cates) was another type of band, they sounded very different. Almost all Petra fans I know of still consider The Dream...

Re: Glen Kaiser shared a II Guys from Petra video
Sorry to say but I think this is a great example of just going on and on using the name Petra while playing and performing in a way that is very, very far from the way Petra played when they were popular. As a fan of what they did I find it hard to watch this. I have heard Schlitt blame the industry...

Re: question on live recording...
I still fail to see how a disagrement on whether some music a band made was good or bad, which period was best, when they should have stopped, whether they should have gathered as Classic Petra or not should say anything about christianity. My points concerned the music and the band that consists of...

Re: question on live recording...
I can see that there has been quite a lot of discussion about the things DeSoto and I wrote. I’d like to make a few comments since this discussion has reached a level that I think is very much out of touch with reality. First of all I was expressing my own oppionion and stressing that others could b...

Re: question on live recording...
Hi DeSoto I must say I agree with you. When I first heard about Classic Petra I thougt it sounded like a great idea. After years and years and years and years and years with members leaving the band, new members coming in, replaced by other new menbers who were again replaced by other new members, I...

Re: Is it just me or...
I have never understood how The Beatles got that popular. It's very simple, noisy, childish, predictable and boring in my oppinion. And you won't find any very talented musician in the band. Some people might like the melodies, but the way they perform is not very talented. I believe part of suchs a...

Re: Is Louie restrained?
He was only off of one studio album and one live album. I don't know how that brings us to just a few opportunites to talk about him. Louie didn't play on all the records when he was a member of the band. There has been some writings on this subject on the zone. You can find some info here: http://...

Re: Lovely guitars, lovely song (Jerusalem)
Thank you too. It's always nice when someone appreciates it. I'll give Robin Trower a listen (haven't heard any of it yet.) I like Clapton but I can't say that I'm a big fan. I like Knopfler a lot better, though a lot of his later stuff is a bit boring in my oppinion. Now we are talking about great ...

Lovely guitars, lovely song (Jerusalem)
So this one is surely of topic, but I thought you might like this very lovely tune performed by two very brilliant guitar players, Jeff Beck and David Gilmour. The only thing not too brilliant is the sound quality of it. Have a listen:
