Re: As I Lay Dying

Maybe Skillet will tour with AILD. Skillet will sell out for anyone. Sir that was uncalled for; I know the members of Skillet on a personal basis your words are the farthest thing from the truth. Skillet did a tour last year in Europe with several secular bands and actually held Bible Studies with ...

Re: Stryper question

With all the hush/hush going on with the situation I do think that maybe there will be a chance that Tim will return, but I do feel that chance is small. I see them just using a studio guy for the album and doing a rent a player for the live shows. Stryper as a band has matured into being more of Ch...

Re: Stryper question

No word on a replacement; they are getting ready to go into the studio for a new album. I'm wondering if they will just use a tour bass player until they find a suitable replacement.

Re: CPR

It's very quiet around here. Does this CPR thread need a cardio pulmonary resuscitation? According to Greg's most recent Facebook post, mixing begins mid-June. Wasn't this album supposed to drop back in March??? To be honest, I'm not that excited about this project. Classic Petra was fun for what i...

Re: Live It Loud!

Its weird that Louie didn't want the shares in the 80's but was very hurt when Bob retired and sold all the touring portion to John S. Also to comment about Petra being in limbo after Greg left is really not that accurate; if there was anytime the group was in doubt was in early 1985 just after Greg...

Re: Poignant Lyrics

The first one that comes to mind is "Lovely Lord" off of PP2; in my opinion Bob's best ballad he ever wrote. I will totally agree about Petra has a song lyric for just about every situation life can throw at you and the best thing about all these songs is they come straight out of God's Word. A few ...

Re: CPR

So far, 8 of the 10 promised tracks have been previewed online. Judas' Kiss It Is Finished Dream On All Over Me Praise Ye the Lord Not of this World For Annie Hollow Eyes ? ? Of the 2 tracks left, which classic songs are you most hoping to see CPR cover? Secondly, can anybody guess what " Mystery S...

What is the God Fixation box in the lower right corner? It looks like a DVD or something.

Back to "Dream On" for a minute... check out THIS rendition:
Now that is heart & soul; best rendition I've heard in a while.

Re: CPR

[quote=executioner post_id=174016 time=1490918407 user_id=49 I totally agree with you on the dancing aspect, plus I think his stage presence is horrible and unprofessional(I've seen Petra live 5 times with him and truly couldn't even look at him). I would have loved to have seen them five times wit...

Re: CPR

Executioner seems pretty hateful and resentful here. I don't know what's the deal. Yes Greg sounds corny at times with his stage banter, but still he helped put Petra on the map. Stuck with Bob though very hard times around 1979 through 1981, and if it wasn't for that we would have never had a Schl...

Re: CPR

I wonder if this French guy's ever heard Greg's version of " Dream On ." I honestly think the GXV version of "Dream On" is really bad especially compared to the original. The Aerosmith version has so much soul & heart to it to where you can feel Steven Tyler's emotions; the GVX version you feel not...

...he sings and moves like... a youth group pastor trying to be legit. I remember seeing Greg X. Volz on tour right after the release of his 1991 album The Exodus . One standout moment that evening was of him hitting a high note whilst doing a high kick a la David Lee Roth. IMG_1241.JPG Too funny!!!

Re: Unseen Power Review

I think what the weak link of the album was the 2 ballads(IMO some of Petra's worst) and the mid tempo songs like "I Need To Hear From You" & "Hey World"; all four of these songs were really bad. The rockers like "Sight Unseen", "Lord's Side, & "Destiny" were really great. When having some of their ...
