Thanks Ex I agree, Greg is always "spot on" thats what gives that emotional punch your hearing.
You are Looney! I hear no emotion just the same ole GXV "robot" vocals. Rock singer vocals can be spot on note wise and there be nothing there.

Re: Louie BTTS

Was "I Will Call Upon The Lord" from Petra Praise an actual live track, or was that studio magic as well? The drums do not sound organic to me, but the crowd noise seems real, especially the singing. If so, did Louie play on that song? That's an interesting question, but since they recreated that t...

Re: Louie BTTS

Sorry but I have first hand knowledge of the recording sessions with the band(just talked to someone that was there throughout the recording) and especially with the WUC sessions and McHugh played a very small role in the making of WUC on the percussion side of the sound and was actually in the stu...

Re: Louie BTTS

FWIW, I went and sought out a live clip of Praying Man. Louie was fantastic. He played much more than what's on the album, but he played a lot of the same stuff. I'm confident in saying, at least for that song, Louie played on the album. Both versions have the same Louie swagger to them. Ditto! WUC...

Re: Louie BTTS

Hi, If you look at the liner notes on WUC, Chris's name is first under "additional contributions"..... I know Louie's style, and I know Chris's style. I know how Louie's drums sound, and I know how Chris's drums sound. Chris has made a big name for himself as a studio player by having a consistent ...

Re: Louie BTTS

I don't mean to come off rude...I HAVE read all the archived stuff...all of it...on the post / thread titled "I know we've been over this before but..." 4/30/04 (check it yourself) Brent said that Louie and John Lawry told him the only record with NO real drums at all was PPTRCO, that John L. did i...

Re: Dream On

His voice does make that song! Sorry but I disagree; There is no emotion or feel in his vocals; its too clean or polished. This is the biggest complaint I've always with GXV vocals; yes they are spot on range & note wise but it just lacks the feel & emotion rock songs need. You can't feel his pain,...

Re: Louie BTTS

Thanks for the reply, but Louie did not play on "The Rock cries out"...hence, my asking about BTTS...there is a dearth of mis-information..... Well you are the one that is misinformed; I have inside knowledge that that is Louie on PP1. Louie also had a hand in these following albums PP1(mostly Loui...

One thing that you can't deny this album is band driven. It's a refreshing alternative to the heavier production driven records of the past.
Yet I find parts of the sound missing out like the drums & bass; there is no life in them.

Re: The Coloring Song

By far USS is better; no offense to CPR but the sound sounds really fake like it is ran completely thru the keyboard, and plus the auto tune with GXV voice is horrible; I'm not really liking much about the CPR offering. BTW John Schlitt's vocals on Desert Rose gives me goose bumps and that is a prim...

Re: CPR

I've listened to the cuts and felt like something is missing which in my opinion is Bob. These cuts also lack punch from the lower end; I hear very little bass tracking and very little snare and the bass drum is not even there. I haven't been against this but have felt from the start that they shoul...

Re: As I Lay Dying

Maybe Skillet will tour with AILD. Skillet will sell out for anyone. Sir that was uncalled for; I know the members of Skillet on a personal basis your words are the farthest thing from the truth. Skillet did a tour last year in Europe with several secular bands and actually held Bible Studies with ...

Re: Stryper question

With all the hush/hush going on with the situation I do think that maybe there will be a chance that Tim will return, but I do feel that chance is small. I see them just using a studio guy for the album and doing a rent a player for the live shows. Stryper as a band has matured into being more of Ch...

Re: Stryper question

No word on a replacement; they are getting ready to go into the studio for a new album. I'm wondering if they will just use a tour bass player until they find a suitable replacement.

Re: CPR

It's very quiet around here. Does this CPR thread need a cardio pulmonary resuscitation? According to Greg's most recent Facebook post, mixing begins mid-June. Wasn't this album supposed to drop back in March??? To be honest, I'm not that excited about this project. Classic Petra was fun for what i...
