Re: Favorite bands

BTW, I don't care for many artists and music releases the world says I should like. The list of artists I don't get or care to get are: The Beatles. I appreciate they made a big impact on people and changed the world. These guys were just lucky enough to be at the right place and time. Their music ...

Re: St Augustine’s Pears

It's sung in the first person (so to speak) so no need to mention himself !

Re: Petra Concert Listings - CCM Magazine

*** June 28/86 Moncton NB (Canada) Moncton Coliseum *** Hi, Thanks for your input. We do list the show below: 06.27.87 Moncton, NB, Moncton Coliseum (with Bryan Duncan) Could that be the one? If you're pretty sure it was 1986, do you happen to have a stub or other info to help verify? We know that ...

I'll also add Allies and David and the Giants to the mix.

Neither really hard rockers, but fantastic music.

Re: Favorite & Least favorite Petra song?

George Harrison reflects my views on least, I would also add Double Take.

Favourite changes with my mood. I currently prefer Midnight Oil for it's pure energy and God Pleaser for it's message. Listen to them almost every day.

Re: Favorite CCR Band? (Poll #3)

They had a somewhat limited discography, but I really liked the Allies, plus they sounded fantastic live, especially with limited production gear (on of Concert at a local church).

Re: Stuck on a deserted island for life.

Praise medley from CITAS. Kind of Beating the System a bit, but at least you get 8-9 minutes instead of 4.

Re: An Atheist's Thoughts on Petra

Read it all through.

Their thought process is pretty light and petty, and the OP was an interesting read, but after that it sent downhill.

That said, it does show what the Church has to be ready to discuss out there.

Beat the System- The album

Listened to it all the way through after many years. Although it definitely has a "techno-pop" 1980's vibe, I find the sings are strong musically and lyrically. BTS & CB are lyrically as meaningful today as 1984. Even Witch hunt, the most "unique song", has a great hook. With not a lot of re-work, t...

Winter jam

Just a query.

I looked at the line-up and it seemed like quite the show.

BUT, I see the show starts at 7:00 with 5-6 acts planned, plus a speaker.

Has anyone gone? Do the Newsboys take more than an hour or is it a quick "best of" performance?

Too far to go, just made me wonder.
