Re: New Volz EP

Yeah, I know. Your right. Still I keep hoping. "Too Big To Fail" kind of got my hopes up for where Greg could still go (even though that was a CP team effort). Still I've liked all of his solo work. "The River is Rising" and "Come Out Fighting" are my personal favorites. But "God Only Knows" surpris...

Re: Greg & Louie (very short) interview

I will say that Greg, with all of his quirky ways of doing things, has always demonstrated and spoken to me first about doing things only if a church of any size would allow him to sing for a love offering. That was the only stipulation. That said a lot to me. One of the first things Louie spoke wi...

Re: Greg & Louie (very short) interview

I just thought it was cool that they emphasized their mission of trying to help save souls... In such a short interview that's what I come away remembering most.

Greg & Louie (very short) interview

I don't know how I keep stumbling upon these videos of Greg and Louie. Probably has to do with spending too much time on YouTube or something but here's a very short interview with Greg and Louie that looks like it was done very impromptu on a college campus somewhere.

Re: Classic Petra in the Top 10

Classic Petra has certainly been the more visible version of Petra over the past several years, with their albums, tour and TBN show. There's certainly no conspiracy here... I never said it was a conspiracy, I said that I think it's strange that they list "Classic Petra" instead of simply "Petra". ...

Yeah...definitely hoping for more of the heavy rock angle without a doubt. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Re: Classic Petra in the Top 10

And isn't it strange that they listed "Classic Petra" instead of simply "Petra"? Not so strange. Classic Petra has certainly been the more visible version of Petra over the past several years, with their albums, tour and TBN show. There's certainly no conspiracy here for or against any version of P...

Re: 40th Anniversary CD out now

I've seen several describe the new tune as "pretty". It is catchy if not particularly memorable. I'm sure it will minister to some people. But - really - does anyone want "pretty" Petra? (Isn't that the "other" Petra?) After listening to "Holy is Your Name" I've still got "Too Big to Fail" running t...

Re: Classic Petra sings the blues

***I don't know if I'd want a whole album of bluesy, but I certainly get your idea. I think this version did a lot of experimentation and they did it all very well. That's part of why they're so great, imo. Yeah, Dev, I think you see where I'm coming from. I was really using that term "bluesy" to s...

Classic Petra sings the blues

Food for thought... I really like what Julian Downward did with his video of "All Over Me" from the Classic Petra concert in the UK in 2011. http://youtu.be/s5c6YwhMemI But every time I watch it and other Classic Petra performances from their BTTR tour (the extended version of "Judas Kiss" is anothe...

Re: GXV recent solo performance w/Louie

All I am saying is, don't you think if Bob wanted to include Greg that they would have? I am not going deeper than that. All of the behind the scenes stuff aside, there is a mental cost of doing business, writing music and performing with people, good and bad. Greg brings a modus operandi, salesman...

I've got to agree. Been following this whole discussion since my original post, thinking through where/when to jump back in. But the last few posts here really nailed it.

Volz doing Zeppelin. I'm digging that. Thanks for posting it. I must've missed that on my first pass. Thanks also for all the supportive comments guys. Its nice to have a place to visit and share a common interest and passion for Petra, its band members and music.
