Re: Favorite Whitecross song (& why)

Love Rex but WC didn't do it for me as a band. Combine that with their poor recording quality, I couldn't really get into them much. That said, I liked King James much, MUCH better. The first album is great. The second album lacked Robert and Tim of Stryper. They didn't contribute to writing, but t...

I like High Gear, but unfortunately Unveiled isn't on my Spotify.

Re: Favorite Whitecross song (& why)

Raspy singers are not typically my thing, but man I loved some Whitecross. I drummed along to songs off of Triumphant Return quite a bit. If I want to go back and listen to the Rex era of WC, I'm definitely pulling out High Gear. It was kind of the Rex show-off show by that point, but I really liked...

Re: Which CCR Musician would you meet?

Where to start? I got to meet Michael W. at his church, shake his hand chat briefly. I shaken John and Bob's hand and gotten pictures at a show. I've also done some of their autograph signings. I got autographs from the Guardian guys, and Newsboys way back when. I got to meet Switchfoot at an autogr...

Re: If you were stranded on an island....

I can't take Michael Drive or whatever he's calling himself these days. And after listening to the live album and seeing the live concerts on youtube, I realize the vocals on the original albums are an illusion. An illusion? You mean you think they created the vocal sounds by lots of editing and ta...

Atomic Arena. That's a good choice. I loved that album back in the day, and the band was personally good to me. But, I can't take Michael Drive or whatever he's calling himself these days. Re: Favorite Daniel Band songs

I liked Daniel Band back in the day. I only had the Rise Up album. I spent many hours at the Christian bookstore listening to demos. I heard Bethel from Rise Up, and I was hooked. I bought a bunch of tapes from various christian metal bands that ended up sitting in a travel case untouched for awhil...

Re: Christian bands & their secular counterparts

I think it's a combination of people not listening to it anymore, and people who have it in digital form. They don't see the need to keep the CDs. I've seen lots of Petra and Petra related stuff over years. Pawn shops are another good place to look. There were a lot of pawn shops around when I lived...

Re: Christian bands & their secular counterparts

Not just CD or record shops. Go to thrift shops and antique shops. They can be a gold mine. I've been to some that have huge record and CD collections for sale. Some guys are really serious about having it well organized, so things are quick and easy to find. Other places you just have to take the t...

Re: Union of Sinners and Saints tour

Dad sounds way overprotective. I've been to dozens of concerts and only remember one injury (O.C.Supertones) and that includes all types of music. Of course, if you are 10 then I can understand your father's stance. That's funny you mention the Supertones. I was at a festival, one of the last...

Re: John Cooper loves Petra

If I remember right, didn't they play with Skillet at one point. I thought they should have done a tour with Skillet after J&H came out. I don't know all the behind the scenes workings of things. I'm guessing that touring with any popular group didn't happen because they didn't have the financial ba...

Re: God Fixation: Current Sounding

I saw them live during this period, and they were good for sure. The sound was heavy and tight. Definitely not Bob. I was glad when Bob came back, but I feel like that was botched. Like they could have toured with somebody and done so much more.

Re: Whitecross Fans?

Love some Whitecross. I had their Love on the Line EP back in the day. Then I got Triumphant Return, which was awesome. Also really liked High Gear. That's the one I would pull out now if I wanted to listen to some old Whitecross. In the Kingdom had some really good songs on it, but I didn't think i...

Re: Winter jam

I've been several times and it has varied. I believe it actually starts earlier. A few of the artists are part of the preshow. The do a preshow as people are still filing in. Then there is the official welcome and the first band. But really not the first band because a few of the artists listed alre...
