Re: US shutdown

I'll bite. Generally speaking, once the gov't reopens, workers do get back pay to cover whatever time they didn't get paid. Is it hard on them? I suppose it is an inconvenience. The mainstream U.S. media tends to push the idea that large numbers of unpaid workers are in danger of losing their home, ...

Re: Best Petra Album of the 80's

I went with On Fire. TMW is on of Bob's best songs ever. I still get chills hearing the opening verse live. I also think MPTY is one of his best songs. I personally like the beefed up version on Back to the Rock better. But, I went with On Fire because I really liked heavy, melodic beefy tunes back ...

Re: CPR at Creation East

They may have played a couple more songs, but I'm drawing a blank as to what they might have been.

CPR at Creation East

CPR at Creation NE 2018. It was good to see Greg live. He sounded great. The band was tight and sounded really good. Louie was fantastic behind the kit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNaoqPh2Dog http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5Fqhm9Ga3U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSbCIJMuKF4 http://www.youtube...

Re: Watchmen - The Other Sweet

I appreciate that the production is decent. There's a lot Christian metal where the songs were good, but the sound didn't have any beef.

Watchmen - The Other Sweet

Anybody listen to these guys back in the day? I still pull up their album on YouTube from time to time and rock out. It's probably my favorite little known album. I think I listened to the demo tape, liked what I heard, and thought it was cool that the insert was a heavy glossy paper. I thought Greg...

Re: CPR

What I find really "interesting" is that when CPR was announced, they said it wasn't Petra, it wasn't Classic Petra - it was CPR. But now, I'm seeing the band being referred to as "Classic Petra Revisited" or "Classic Petra Returns" in a number of places, including Creation NE. https://creationfest...

Re: Louie BTTS

FWIW, I went and sought out a live clip of Praying Man. Louie was fantastic. He played much more than what's on the album, but he played a lot of the same stuff. I'm confident in saying, at least for that song, Louie played on the album. Both versions have the same Louie swagger to them.

Re: Louie BTTS

I liked Paul's work with Petra and what he brought to the songs. However, his timing wasn't always the greatest. One of the shows I was at, they were playing Amazing Grace. They were doing the spot in the middle where Bob would play a couple chords and Paul would solo, and they would alternate. At o...

Re: Newsboys Reunion??

The current lineup, minus Michael Tait, has been the same since the early 90's. Jody Davis took several years off for his family, before returning. Peter Furler was really the guy behind the band from the beginning. Phil Joel joined on bass, also in the early 90's. So, they are reuniting their longe...

Re: Newsboys Reunion??

Sweet! I had an inkling months ago that this was coming. One of the major festivals gave a few teasers for their 40th anniversary, including reunions.
I fully expect DC Talk to perform as well.
