Re: Recommendations on Christian Rock

FYI

Mastodon is not Mastedon.

Spotify automatically brought up Mastodon and I thought "Boy, the Elfante sound has really changed!"

Not so much

Re: CPR

Hmm, Judas Kiss wasn't too bad,

My initial thought is there feels like a lack of energy on this album. Anyone else know what I mean?

Re: The Union of Sinners & Saints

I'm excited that the band is coming to the (somewhat close) River Rock Fest in Maine next July.

I was already planning to be there, so this is a bonus!

Re: Recommendations on Christian Rock

Thanks folks. I've got a lot of catching up to do for music. I do like D&K, Allies, David and the Giants and Rez, all whom I own their music. On another note, just came back from River Rock Maine. First time at a Christian music festival and thoroughly enjoyed it. A couple or 3 artists that were new...

Recommendations on Christian Rock

Hi Folks Finally joined Spotify family. Surprising the amount of Christian music available. I'm looking for your recommendations on bands/music. I still like the pop-rock genre of Petra, White Heart and Crowder. Feel free to educate me on what's out there! Currently listening to Disciple. A bit on t...

Re: Unseen Power Review

I really liked "I need to hear from you", but the sound was 3 years past due. I have a special spot for "hey world", but agree the chorus is very weak. I'm not a big fan of "Destiny", it feels like only half a song. I'm hit and miss on this album/ Some days it will get 2-3 listens, but then back on ...

Apologetics Conference

Just recently had an apologetics conference in central Maine with 6,500 on site and several hundred streaming in remotely. It wasn't for the faint of heart as it went for 12 hours (but including 2 meal breaks). The key note speakers were Ravi Zacharias Lee Strobel, Tom Woodward and Randy Newman. It ...

Re: dcTalk

I guess i am naive then. I understand Brent has a much different view being part of the industry, but feel all Christians are to be held to a higher standard. If they're on stage proclaiming God and Christ's love, they better be living the life! Frankly, it's outright hypocritical if a band is prais...

Re: Done w/Lyrics, Questions for John Slick

They were good questions. I'll add a few. 1) Do you still play? If you do, what instrument do you go to most? 2) What do you prefer, writing your own tunes, or adding your touch to those written by someone else? 3) Did you like touring, or was it more a necessary evil? 4) When listening to recorded ...

Christmas Saluatations

Just thought I would drop an early Merry Christmas and wishes for a Blessed Season.

I'm off on a sunny holiday for a couple of weeks and will avoid the internet until 2016!!

And in the spirit of Christmas songs that should have never been recorded..

Re: question for Sue about The Christmas Project

I hate it too, well I hate it now. When I was a kid I loved it. It is in the same league as "All I want for Christmas," "I got a hippo for Christmas," and "Christmas Shoes" now. I realize that two of the three songs I just listed are meant to be stupid but man, I hate those songs. I'm not sure I wo...

Re: If you were stranded on an island....

Interesting question. My collections isn't very deep and includes a few local acts.

1) Petra- CITS
2) Petra- Beyond Belief
3) Allies- Long Way from Paradise
4) Final Destination- self-titled
5) Praise and Worship 50 (Compilation)

David and the Giants gets an honourable mention too.
