Re: Schlitt Happens Shirt!

Am I the only one who thinks this shirt is a horrible idea?? Using Schlitt's name to make a few bucks when most people will see this shirt and 'hear' something else. Shaabyi I realize it's just a joke concept, but if you want to fool everyone with silly "Christian cussing" by implying the really ba...

Re: Mark Kelly NOTW

On "All Over Me", there's a ii-half-dim-7 chord just before the V+7. Mark always played a V on that ii, and when I pointed it out, he was, uh... not pleased  . I mentioned to JDB that maybe they could fix it, but it never was fixed or patched. So, either JDB forgot about it, or he liked the c...

Re: Mark Kelly NOTW

Hello, responding to a previous post about Mark playing on NOTW. I e-mailed JDB about it, ( he replied within 2 hours), he said Mike Brignardello came in to do a post production "fix patch" and that was it. I am a big Mark Kelly fan, he inspired me to learn bass. I would take him over Ronny any day....

Re: A Conversation with John Slick

John, Let me say like everyone else has said, your work on those three Petra albums was nothing short of inspiring. It is some of my favorite keyboard work Christian or secular! My question is, and I'm sorry if this has already been asked and I just missed it, but who were some of your influences i...

Re: Done w/Lyrics, Questions for John Slick

I don't know how you happened to come into this board (I'm sure someone must have invited you) but it's a real pleasure hearing about the past history from someone who was there. There IS a lot of garbage that goes/goed on behind the scenes... just because guys are in a band - or the Christian musi...

Re: Done w/Lyrics, Questions for John Slick

I wouldn't justify a response to people like that John, there are a few overly sensitive people hiding behind an alias here that get wound up about the most trivial things. I'm glad you're posting here John! I actually like to visit the site now, was boring before you joined. 8) It's been fun to re...

Re: Done w/Lyrics, Questions for John Slick

One thing I find annoying about former Petra members is their insistence upon shunning the albums they weren't on; You're right, Mister Helper . We ex-Petrats should get our priorities in order. But constantly bringing it up makes you seem irritable and egotistic . :?: Other than a couple of...

Re: Done w/Lyrics, Questions for John Slick

They were good questions. I'll add a few. 1) Do you still play? If you do, what instrument do you go to most? 2) What do you prefer, writing your own tunes, or adding your touch to those written by someone else? 3) Did you like touring, or was it more a necessary evil? 4) When listening to recorded...

Re: Done w/Lyrics, Questions for John Slick

1. Just how long did that Yamaha bass cab Mark Kelly played through get carried around in the cardboard box? I was amazed at how well preserved the box was when you came through Tulsa/The Brady Theater. 2. Looking back now, what instruments would you have used live, if you would have had the money?...

Re: The Band Van (Coloring Song)

Red is the color of my Fender Rhodes And the case has fallen upon my toes I play in a band, with a pastor's son He's is really odd, He's the only one That can keep a job, that can pay for blow That can light a fart and make it glow Blue is the color of a van so old That will not start when the weat...

Re: Ring It Up

Reminiscent of Weird Al's "Eat It" parody of Jackson's "Beat It".
Is MTV still around? We could start a duo, maybe put together a road show and hit the big time.
