Re: anyone get their Classic Petra shirt in?

Can anyone tell me if it is a large extra large? Some XL's fit a little smaller than others. Even thought they all say XL on them I find that quite a few really seem like they are between large and extra large. That just won't do for me. Might need an xxl....

Re: Oz Fox and the Highway to Hell

I think my favorite Stryper album is Reborn. It's a bit different than the music from their heyday but I feel like lyrically and musically it is the strongest in their catalog. Murder by Pride was good, too but it was a "safe" album and didn't stray much from the mold. I really can't wait for the ne...

Re: Petra time.

Scrap the best ofs from Star song and show us more of the coolest cover! Fired Up was a kick butt cover back in the day.

Re: Is Louie restrained?

It may be premature but so far I agree that the drums seem restrained. Too bad really.

Re: Other Samples Are Up

Time keeping is essential, and if Louie keeps good time then great, it's just kinda plain on Angel of Light. Perhaps they are even more vanilla than the original? I never paid much attention to the drums when I was younger.

Re: Oz Fox and the Highway to Hell

Now I remember. Some folks are absolutely black and white. They have a hard time living in the world full of color. I just wish Petra had never covered a secular song, now they are doomed. That was in the early years of Christian music too, before it mutated into the evil spawn of Satan of today. BT...

Re: Other Samples Are Up

More Power to Ya and Angel of Light are sounding a lot better with each listen. Although the drumming is really simple. I guess I never noticed the "average at best" drumming in Petra.

Re: Oz Fox and the Highway to Hell

Stryper are a Christian band? what label were they on? Is this a joke? They were on Enigma records, then Hollywood. Nowadays I'm not sure if they have a label or just a distributor. Enigma and Hollywood records were not saved like Starsong and Dayspring. Oh wait, labels don't determine ones status ...

Re: Oz Fox and the Highway to Hell

I can't wait for the new album. If it's a band I like then I usually appreciate the covers. As for the source of the music, it doesn't bother me in a general sense- it has to specifically offend me. There are plenty of Christian artist and music that offend me more than some secular music.

This will only work if we can get John and Leuie at the same time. That way it splits the burden of answering all our qestions since not everyone tipes gud,.,j

Re: Petra - The Video Game

Superman was a great adventure game for the day. You need to read the instructions though. E.T. was not nearly as unpopular in it's day as it is now. The web sure has exaggerated it's lame quotient. I remember the real Petra wallpaper game. Didn't it loop the guitar riff from 2 are better than 1 rep...

Re: Other Samples Are Up

I'm liking Angel of Light a little more. But the drums are so, elementary! Adonai, ugh, I never liked the original much so what can I say I like the upbeat Rose Colored update- it works for me Clean, well too bad it's not Hollow Eyes. HE was a great song- still relevent to this day too. Of the origi...

Re: Petra - The Video Game

http://www.arcade-museum.com/images/118/1181242123194.jpg this was a really cool video game. When you got all the members to the concert the machine would play a tape loop of Seperate Ways. It sounded really good for an arcade. I still play it from time to time when the arcade expo in Houston is be...

Re: 4 Classic Petra Samples.

Greg's voice still sounds good to me. I prefer Petra from the John years but let's face it, John's voice is all over the place these days. Just listen to J&H or Farewell, or even the Alakrity video. I was just hoping that the new recordings would have some arrangement improvements and really jump ou...
