Yes, Adrinux, Beyond Belief is the quintessential Petra song in many ways, including the guitar bridge/solo. Most of those mentioned by others are also good.

Yeah, there's different tastes out there. Breathe in is cool but not on my favorites list. I was a fan lllllllloooooooonnnnngggg before NO DOUBT, so I wasn't a newly gained fan b/c of that album. I was just a long-standing Pethead who loved that album and appreciated it immensely as a continuation o...

I am totally lost. This thread is entitled "Dove Awards and Jim Cooper." But the content is a collection of cryptic references to ... who knows?!

I guess I'm just out of the loop, so never mind!

Jonathan, kind of you to share the transcript of your interlocution with A.L. earlier. She's a sport but not much help on this all-important issue. You know, I think the first PETRA self-titled album is the only one I've never owned at some time or another. Or at least I don't remember owning it.

I have seen a couple of folks bad-mouth No Doubt as being Petra's weakest album, lost fan base, etc. I have no idea about fan base, but I couldn't disagree more in this assessment of the album. It is my favorite album of all. And this opinion is from a fan who likes the vast majority of what Petra h...

There needs to be balance in everything in life. One can't work for free, or one can't support one's family or oneself. Paul made tents to support himself so as not to be a burden to the fledgling churches he was apostling. Some pastors today are in similar situations. It's usually not ideal - for t...

"For All You're Worth" is not one of my favorites musically speaking, but I agree that it's message is straignt ahead truth and is valuable. There have been times during which I have specifically chosen that one because I needed to message therein.

There really is a God, and He really does like us!

wow...amazing how the chit-chat on these threads eventually strays far from the oritinal poster's comment/question...sheesh! Petra's best song has to be the signature "Beyond Belief", but the following are way up there too: 2) Enter In 3) Destiny 4) No Doubt 5) Just Reach Out I think, as has been sa...

New PETRA album soon...?

What's the latest scuttlebut re: a new studio album from Petra? I know there was talk a few months ago that another hard-hitting rocker (like J&H) was in the works.
Hoping...!

Stryper controversy

Was the Stryper thread removed by the moderator? If so, I'm sure there was a good reason, but I am curious as to the reason for it's abrupt disappearance. Please advise...

Sad, but understandable...

I have never liked Stryper - neither their music nor their seemingly shallow life-witness. And I can see why some are so upset about the loss of $$ by the Mexican church. But based on what I've read so far, I am not angry at Stryper for this unfortunate set of events. Bad things happen. Loss occurs....
