Re: TUOSS Lyrics

Got the liner notes? I want to see who all the guest musicians are and what they played.

Re: Greg X Volz New Website & Possible Classic Petra Revamp.

How about just "Volz". Incidentally, "Greg Xavier Volz" is probably the coolest lead singer name ever, made even cooler by the fact that it's his real name and not a stage name. That's the kind of name parents give their kids when they want them to grow up to be rock stars. Ah yes, the old "use the...

Re: Greg X Volz New Website & Possible Classic Petra Revamp.

Hey, Petra has had a few other guitarists over the years. I know that some of them wouldn't be an option, but how about Kevin Brandow?

Without Bob though, they shouldn't use the name Petra. Otherwise, you'd be better off calling GHF Classic Petra.

How about Cephas? Cephas means rock!

So far I'd say Brother to Brother is the standout track.

Re: New Bride or Guardian anyone?

Guardian does have new material. They released a 3-song EP called 3 to Get Ready a few years ago and followed that up with a Kickstarter album Almost Home last year. They've added a second guitarist Jamey Pierrenot as Tony Palacios didn't want to go back on the road. New material has a more modern r...

Re: The Union of Sinners & Saints

If we're talking albums with John Schlitt on them, I thought this was the weed album.

Never Been Any Reason was also featured in Dazed and Confused. It even made it onto the second soundtrack album.

Re: A Conversation with John Slick

Getting back to the questions for John (what am I thinking, trying to get a thread back on track) I have a couple regarding NOTW. I wasn't a Petra fan yet when the album came out, but I imagine people may have been taken aback with their first listen. Coming on the heels of MPTY, people probably tho...

This thread reminded me of the whole "is Edward really Brent" question from several years back. Say, how is Edward these days?

That bot has apparently been a Petra fan since the band formed. Impressive. Although I find his choice for favourite album somewhat suspect.

Re: Is this for real?

I'm not up on my Tree63 history, but didn't John Ellis bail on Christianity. I remember they covered a Michael W. Smith tune for an Ultimate Music Makeover album of Smitty songs, and Ellis mentioned how much he was moved an inspired by the song. So much, that he wanted to show that they could match...

Re: Is this for real?

This is pretty cool! Two of my favourite bands merged together. I like Tree 63 too. The sound clip takes some getting used to - hearing Billy's guitar with John's voice. Looking forward to it!
