Sue, you're right about the concept of the Grammy. But that is the concept and not always reality. I have friends that are multiplatinum, Grammy nominated and award winning artists. It is a fraternity. People buy and sell votes. It is as crooked as the day is long in the major catagories. The artist...

Speculating here.... Double Take was on Word. Word is owned by secular label. Secular labels have more affiliations and networkings with the secular engineers. producers in the Grammy association. These large companies like the bragging rights for winning the most in all catagories. J&H is on Inpop,...

It was probably backlash for Petra getting the Grammy for Double Take. I like the album, but I don't think that Petra was necessarily deserving of a Grammy then, considering their competition. Especially when it sold only 30k copies or so world wide. What a joke. Meanwhile great albums see no award...

The Grammy Awards actually seem to be based more on artistry than the Dove Awards. Right. Nope. If you are a paying member, you get to vote. I have seen a couple of bids and offers for Grammy nominations on recording/producing messageboards. It is by the industry, for the industry. It is self servi...

What's the difference between that and a Christian band on a secularly owned Christian label. It's all about money for all of them. It is a rigged system. I would rather deal with secular people anytime. They still have a hesitance for selling Jesus to make a buck and/or getting on God's bad side. T...

FYI, John and Dino are doing their own record label, and have international distribution I would assume. They always have had anyway.

There are many like Frontiers that would be great.

Many people based here in the US only release Euro records. It is common. The label is not really a big deal. The kicker is good distribution. They have distribution now. What they need to do is tour over there. I don't mean a couple of shows. I mean a full-time tour. That is the hard part of the de...

IF Petra quits, I think that I will hire the band minus Bob, add my guitar players and have PDC tour Europe.

The age thing is crap. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW OLD MICHAEL W SMITH IS? He is sticking around. Amy Grant is old. I think that it is no more than demand. And why is that? It isn't that Petra hasn't adapted, because they were ahead of the trend, sometimes alienating the hardcore fanbase that is sometimes ...

Dude, in this case, you saw an old post Jud made that someone dug up for whatever reason, assumed something illegal was going on and sent the Copyright Police after him before you really understood the circumstances. There's nothing wrong with speaking up about something that is wrong or illegal; w...

Brent, If the law was so specific than why are all these artists, record companies, and distribution companies losing their cases? This law has so many loopholes its not even funny anymore. The Aerosmith thing was along the same lines as this issue. There was a person that was running an unoffical ...

If he is charging for a archive service, and someone owns the video already, according to the Federal Fair Use act, he is off of the hook. If not, he is indeed in violation. Sections 105-108 are very specific. I do not know about the Aerosmith suit. That suit was in reference to internet piracy and ...

One can't deny the fact that U2 chas used Christian words, terminology or biblical references. However, Bono has never clearly stated that Jesus Christ is the one and only way to Christ. It has been quite the opposite in some instances, when acknowledging that all religion is good, and that people a...
