Re: The new Petra record of 1984
I get it. As a 50 something, I struggle with relevancy. Should Petra have not changed their sound to try to continue to appeal to a younger crowd? Or should th e y have stayed the same? Where does that put BTS? That was a change. Or you could say it was an experiment. But I see bands that never chan...

Re: Greg on Coloring Song
So,once again, over the course of a couple of years, and a couple of topics, (Louie drumming for example)...we have Mr."first-hand knowledge" being contradicted by an actual memeber of Petra.

Re: 1979 Petra Live Audio Miscellaneous
Thats brilliant arranging Mr. Slick! And thank you so much for "Not by Sight" and "Occupy". Occupy is one of my all-time favorites.

Re: The new Petra record of 1984
I'm not saying skip them, I'm saying NSD,MPTY,NOTW, then ND, BTTS, TMW, OF etc.....musically. Criticism that ND isn't "Petra" enough because it isn't as hard as BB or UP or OF....it sounds very Petra if its after NOTW......And to your point, yes you could put WUC between ND and BTTS....musically it ...

Re: 1982 - Petra Live in Atlanta
Looking at this and listening to the Audio from the 1979 cncert where Greg X is singing and playing bass at the same time shows me how integral was Greg to the survival and success of Petra. If Greg wouldn't have stuck with Bob Petra would have disappeared by 1981. Greg even played guitar live and ...

Great missing peice of history, actually pro-shot. Would love to see more of this! Once again amazed by the great playing and singing of Mark.

The new Petra record of 1984
I have discovered that musically, if you pretend BTS never happened, but instead we got John Schlitt era No Doubt after NOTW....it works.....musically....just sayin

Re: New Petra Project
I spoke with Mark for a while after the TBN taping and asked him how it felt to be back in the band. He said that ever since he left Petra, he always felt like he had sold his birthright. He was thrilled to be playing Petra songs again, and he seemed genuinely happy miming his way through the songs...

Star Song Greatest hits releases
Does anyone know if the Star Song Greatest hits releases that were released in the 1990's Petraphonics, Petrafied, Power Praise etc.... Were these tracks remastered for those releases? They definitely sound "brighter" to me, and they "crank" a little better on the JDB tracks...just curious if anyone...

Is there any lyric you would change? Sometimes as people grow older, their Theology can change slightly on certain points.

Ronny Cates start date
Does anyone know if Ronny joined before or after the band started laying down tracks for On Fire? I know he is credited for the album just wondered if anyone had an actual date joined.

Re: Back to The Street recording dates
BTTS is my favorite Schlitt era record. I think its perfect the way it is because it is a representation of the time in which it was recorded. As much as I love JL, I really did not like the "modern" production on CPR. BTTR was ok, but CPR was too much for me. As far as the "Elefante sound" goes, I ...

Re: Back to The Street recording dates
Well, John S clearly says its 86. Also, the video features Mark, John L and John E. Recording bgvs, without Bob. My first thought was what you mentioned about Bob being there because its his band, but they always said they hated recording in LA. Why stick afound if you dont need to? Thanks for the ...
