Chrislam and Assemblies of God

Hey folks, I have family that live in Tennessee and they are talking about this expanding group of people in the South, often associated with the Austrailian Assemblies of God or the Hillsong United group, that are teaching about Chrislam. Does anyone have any insight into this? I've not heard much ...

Re: Poll: Wake-Up Call (1993)

I'm also not a huge fan of this CD. Maybe I connect it with Bob leaving, I'm not sure. I'm sorry but production values are generally not a deciding factor for me loving an album. I like great tunes, this one doesn't' have anything for me that touches Destiny or Dance, etc..

Re: Poll: Beyond Belief (1990)

Creed is my favorite. I agree with prefering to hear Creed and BB on the CD vs. live. IAOTR was the most memorable live song for me. I remember them turning on the house lights for "I am on the Rock" during the song. Very cool for me at my first concert (Unseen Power tour).

Re: Favorite petra song

I think for about 10 years or so, I would have said Creed was my favorite. I still love that song, but now I would probably lean towards Adonai or All Fired Up.

This was my first Petra tape. I think You Are My Rock has always been my favorite.

Re: 2013 Charts

I probably wouldn't be concerned about the lyrics/intentions of the music if I didn't like the sound of Metallica or AC/DC. I stay away from it because I don't know what's behind the music. If the Bible is God-inspired, can't this music by Satin-inspired?

Re: Poll: Back to the Street (1986)

"Shakin' the House" was also my first favorite Petra song. It's really the reason I love Petra today. I had "battled" with my mom for a couple of years over getting a Petra album, but one day I finally was able to talk her into letting me get CITAS, which is the only thing the Zondervan bookstore a...

Re: 2013 Charts

Ok, a little off topic...I've heard that "Sandman" refers to Satan. Is that too much of a leap, "Enter Sandman"? I'm a big Mariano Rivera fan and that was always his theme song, which has always been a concern for me. Rivera is a well known Christian.

I bought the most recent Stryper, Plumb and Thousand Foot Krutch albums recently. I'm enjoying all of them.

Road to Zion is a great song. I heard The Franz family sing Road to Zion at our church, great version. I really like John's version of RCSGW.

This album artwork is one of my favorite. This album has the best version of GGR&RTY in my opinion, love the extended intro. 70's rock is really cool.

Great album! When I first listened to this one in the late 80's, WHWCDN and PYTL were my favorites, practically wore out the cassette tape! I really like the Classic Petra remade of Angel of Light, fortunately I haven't found a way to wear out an MP3!

Tough choice, I picked Occupy. Lot's of good tunes, although I've never been a fan of "Godpleaser".

Re: Poll: Back to the Street (1986)

Shakin' The House is the first Petra song I ever heard. Great memories for me. I used to ride my bike to school listening to this tape on my walkman. I agree that this album is underrated.
