Rediscovering Classic Petra

Post by Enosh » Tue Jul 19, 2011 4:20 pm

I have always been a Petra fan in general, but primarily been know to love the John Schlitt era much more. I have had numerous heated discussions over the last three decades over who is the better singer or front man. I've always loved John's rock voice and made no bones about it.

The thing is, after watching the TBN performance, I am blown away with Classic Petra! The sound is amazing! I have always loved those songs but man they just come alive now to me for some reason. I haven't had a Petra song stuck in my head for a very long time, and now I can't get the whole set list out of my head. I even showed up to my band practice on Saturday playing about five different CP tunes and talking about adding one or two to our set list. I'm blessed to be excited about Petra once again.

You'll get a "LIKE" from me as well. By the way, if you should decide to cover some Petra tunes, it would be very cool to see some video of that.

It's nice to hear some of these classics again, most I think they enhanced and sound better, and the new song Too Big sounds great. Not my favorite 5 member wise but nevertheless nice to hear the songs updated.

I will post some video if we end up doing some tunes. We're leaning toward Judas' Kiss or maybe Second Wind.

One thing I can tell you. In a couple weeks when I'm back from Vacation there will video of AndBand with John posted. I'm going to post a couple of the concerts we did with him. I gdet all kinds of requests for it so now that I have the harddrive space to make it happen it's coming. :)
