To Petra-ize this a bit.... "I see the power of the prayin' man!"

God laid it on my heart to contribute and I'm praying about increasing my pledge. Some folks here are very pessimistic about this project, but I choose to believe that through God all things are possible and I know John believes that too... But I'm still telling all my Petra/Schlitt fans to pray about contributing, too... After all, we are His hands and feet.

Well, now John wants to see the full amount raised in the next three weeks so he can start recording in July. I have to admit, I've held out hope that somehow the mountains would move and $35,000 would be raised by the deadline, but in the next few weeks, well, I really think that would take a sure and certain act of God. I ain't saying it can't or won't happen, but I'll be blown away if it does.

WOO HOO!!!!!!!!! Made it to the $10,000 mark!!! All right!

I loved hearing the old demo song. The music was only so-so, but the vocals were amazing, just like Head East.

I know! He hits some really slamming notes on that tune - and this is AFTER he was 'done' with music and not using his voice at all! so cool!

I have two others from that demo... maybe we'll shoot those out as immediate incentives later.

If anyone pledges now or in the future they can still get the demo because it was sent out as an update for supporters only - thru Kickstarter (once you pledge, you have access to ALL the updates).

Think about it... even if you only pledge a BUCK - you can get the demo song! SURELY that's worth a buck!

Where did John come with the $35,000 price tag? I've seen many other Kickstart campaigns that were a fraction of this total, and they were for an entire band (Falling Up, High Flight Society). That number seems really high!

That's like saying $2,000 seems high to fix a car....well WHICH car, and for what repairs? I am sorry, $35k to record and produce a record is chump change. Yes, people are making cheap records, but that does not make them great and it does not make them something John would want or we would want to listen to. The $35k project today was around $125k 10 years ago. Expectations keep going up while budgets keep going down. By comparison, if the auto industry had to live with the same requirements, we would all be riding bikes to work because there is just no way to support an industry on nothing.

So, the new album will include The Cross Remains. (Because the kickstarter update says that there's one song from The Greater Cause features in the radio spot and that can then only be The Cross Remains.)
