Louies drumming

Post by 3rd_DAY Fan » Thu Sep 15, 2005 8:04 pm

ok here is a question which album do you guys think louie did his best on?

I think his best was on "Not of this World"

What do you guy think he did bad on(if you had to pick one) I think it was God Fixation. I do not like that album. It does not have that Petra feel to it, in my opinion.

I think his best technical work with the kit was probably on No Doubt, at least in my opinion.

Bring on the hate mail...

That's odd. because God Fixation was one of the first records that Louie really played on extensively. I would have to ask JDB, but I don't think Louie played on Not of this World. JDB had his bass and drum players do alot of that work for various reasons.

I know Brown Bannister used Loiue alot on WUC and I really like the drums on that album. I think it is one of Petra's best when it comes to the drums and low end guitar work.

Keith Edwards did the bulk of the drumming on NOTW. Louie did some cymbal overdubs for one reason or another.
IMO, Louie's best drumming in on Wake Up Call, and PP2 We nee Jesus. The drumming has a human feel, a pocket that can't be produced by a machine; a pocket that is exclusively "Louie".

Machine or not, I totally love the heavy-boomin' drums on On Fire and Beyond Belief. That's part of the reason why those are my favorite albums.

Kinda odd that Petra has had so many non-Petra members perform in the studio over the years. . .

Thanks for asking Brent... we're doing good. I'll take this over to the "Off topic" part of the forum.

I would go with WUC as it is probably the one album that is most truly Louie.
