Updates on the new album

Post by Kirkman » Thu Sep 22, 2005 12:31 pm

Okay, as most of you guys already saw here on the Zone, Inpop is changing from "first-come, first-serve" to something of an RSVP system.

However, there is another important update. Inpop is now saying the album will be released ONLY as a CD, NOT as a CD/DVD combo. They *are* taping it for a *possible* future DVD release.

DVD

That makes sense... with the quick turnaround they've set for themselves on this project, getting a video edited and ready for production would be even tougher than getting the CD itself ready.

It does make alot of sense, because of the time frame. I think they will test the market and see how many they can sell as a CD only package and then go from there. THIS MEANS WAR!

It sounds like the whole project wasn't very well thought out.

Although I would naturally prefer to have a DVD as soon as possible, from a business standpoint, I reckon someone figured out they could make more money in two separate releases. Or, someone from Petra's end determined it might hurt attendance for the farewell tour because people would just wait for the DVD instead of coming to a show. I wondered about that myself.

I can wait. After all, patience is a virtue. :)

Whatever. I'll buy both whether it's a boxed set or two releases. I just hope the DVD materializes.

Aw man, you are kidding me!!!! First I can't make it to the concert, but I don't feel bad cause there will be a dvd and only 500 people will see it anyway. Now I find I won't even see it!!!!!?!?!? Invite former members and everything and then no video?! It's just cruel. Especially if the video just gets lost to oblivion and nothing is ever done.

I thought that was awfully fast to get out a DVD too. How about having first divs or a pre-release for those who attend....that's probably not fair either. I guess I'll try to shoot a few minutes on my camcorder cell phone.

Somehow, someway, someone really needs to let inpop know just how bad the fans want that DVD.

DVD

Post by fcollazo » Thu Sep 22, 2005 7:39 pm

We need this to be like on Greg's farewell in 1985 with a disc and a video. A DVD wil allow the band members to express their feelings and their gratitude towards all these years of fan support. I hope INPOP sees beyond this and releses both even if it's one after the other. WE WANT TO SEE GREG JUMP AGAIN FROM THE AUDIO MONITORS!!!!!! I think there should be two full sets, on with John and one with Greg. Both should have John Lawry on keyboards, and let it roll. Please tell INPOP we want the DVD!!!!!!!!!!!

God Bless, Felipe.

Thanks for the link. I contacted them and asked for a DVD as well as a double-live CD. They'd definitely get my money for both.
