Oh, I don't know what you're talking about.

We're all very gentle and understanding here at the Petra Zone.

We would never jump on anyone's case for stating an opinion!

Especially not if they just were having a little trouble expressing themselves!

We always STICK to the topic at hand!

We're very dignified and reserved around here.

That implies that I understand Ikea commercials. I do not. Ok, ok, I'll try to contribute to discussion from now on.

Ok, guys it is my turn now

I have to look at this with the understanding of what's happening around with everything else.

They say that the 80s are back or coming back: but Petra still can't get on the radio.

Bon Jovie, Fleetwood Mac and other 70s and 80s icons scores more hits: but Petra still can't get on the radio

Styper puts a new collection out, records two brand new songs, does a reunion tour, has a concert coming up for yet another Stryper convention with people that come around from all over the world. A brand new Live DVD, and Album is set for release: But Petra never breaking up, still rocking after 30 years and they can't get on the radio.

Radio stations say they support ministries, PETRA shows more ministry then most groups today, but instead of playing songs that support the idea of we really need Jesus, those Radio stations that say they are for ministry would rather play songs about Baby, Baby. Or most recently songs about boys wanting girls, from bands that say their Christians in a band. Petra says, they are a Christian Band, a ministry first and still they can't get on radio.

The Praise and Worship market, did those radio stations that play Praise and Worship, consider Revival? I don't think so. So the band that started Praise Rock can't even get that on radio.

Now this is not to down other bands, but my point is Radio stations just don't back up what they claim anymore, they say their for ministries so they can get the support they need to keep going. But they play all this other stuff so they can keep getting support from the record companies to keep going.

It's not the fans fault for loving their band and wanting to hear their music. But the station managers and production managers at your friendly local radio station says yes or no to what is played on their air waves, it's not the fan's airwaves, it's the radio stations.

Some of us have even said, we send our support into some of these friendly stations to help further their ministry, but when we request a song for petra, some how that track is overlooked. I wonder how many Radio stations that run mp3 files for their rotation really have taken the time to place the new Petra stuff into their computers.

We're not gonna stop supporting those radio stations, unless God shows us other wise, but on the other hand, we're not going to stop supporting Petra either. For cryin' out loud how hard it is to play one Petra song in a low rotation, are they afraid that Petra will have another hit? They no they will, that's the whole problem. Petra doesn't have radio success anymore because radio says they don't.

  how about PETRADIO

bob says it best....

I just want my life to glorify His Son
To make my Father proud that I'm His child before I'm done
No need to pat me on the back or stop the shake my hand
I just want to hear my Father say "Well done, well done"
I just want to hear my Father say "Well done"

Stephen, your summation of the problem at hand is very impressive!

Now, does anyone have any ideas about what we can do about it?
