Do you prefer Greg or John? Or are you like me, and love them both?

Both have their pros and cons. I like em both.

Greg. But John is tolerable is Mark is on bass.

I like em both, but I prefer John because he has one of the rock'n'roll world's best voices and a unique connection with the crowd from the stage.

John. My favorite voice on the entire planet. Very cool on stage, and just seems like an awesome guy!

No doubt John. Greg has had his moments, but for me his voice just never formed that chemistry with the sound or vibe of the music. I believe any high quality singer could have come in and did what Greg did, but John took Petra to that next level in all areas that are unmatched.

Both, when it comes to styles and abilities. There's a reason for my answer... 
However, having met John and chatted with him, I feel like he's a friend, so I get excited when I hear about his different projects and stuff.

Yeah, definitely pros and cons to both... My dad likes Greg, since he grew up with him. 
But I, on the other hand, grew up with John.
I love them both, and depending on the mood, don't have a favorite. (If I did, it would be John, since I grew up hearing him on the radio and since I share the rocker voice :p love John!)

John Schlitt always and forever! As one of the comments said I grew up with John too. That's the fact I'm choosing him over Greg. But I only saw Greg live and he is amazing too.

I hate to bring this up but what did John ever do on stage that was cool? I have only seen him standing in the same place for the entire concert. Not wanting to start a fire, but someone post some footage of John jumping or running or really getting into the music.
To answer the question, I like both, but Greg over John for stage performance.
