I like them both. They are both amazing singers. Greg I think is the better pure singer, but John is the better screamer, so there ya go.

John did in the old days, but in the later years he became pretty stationary. Greg still runs and jumps around. Amazes me for an old guy like that.

No. I just have never seen John really move around the stage to much!

I have seen both John Schlitt and Greg Volz performing at Seaside festival Norway, and both moved around quite well. I have video of them both, but if you're blind pethead, you might not noticed this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY2AOjfWlSk

Running and jumping on stage doesn't necessarily translate into coolness on stage to me. Maybe it does for some people. When I first heard The Grafting, I didn't like it much. I'm talking about the song, not the whole CD. But after seeing videos of it (not the oldest ones but a little more recent)....John somehow has a way of making it better when you see him do it live. So now I like the song much better than I used to. He just has great stage presence! :)

Both Greg and John used the stage, the whole stage at times. There is a difference in their swagger though. Greg's moves always seemed a little corny to me. On CITAS he does a silly skip, shuffle that didn't look cool then and looks downright comical now. His mini jumps aren't any better. Even his pantomimes on BTTR are a little overdone. John had a cooler presence on stage than Greg, IMO, but in later years he beefed up and became a little less mobile.

I'll not quote what my kids said when I showed them CITAS.... Greg is from another decade and his moves are also very 80ish.
I think it's funny to see Greg's moves, but I like John better on stage. But yes, age is affecting him too.

Just like the other night for the TBN special Greg's hand mannerisms are just disruptive to the songs and he has always been that way. Something most vocal teachers will teach is to avoid what they call hand eye contact. Let your voice bring the message not your hands. I actually have to look away sometimes when watching because I will find myself focusing on his hands and mannerisms and will not even be listening to the song.

Greg's stage mannerisms are much less odd then they used to be and to whatever extent they still exist, I really don't care, cuz the man still has such an incredible voice.
