John Schlitt "The Grafting" Video Debut!

Post by sue d. » Wed Jul 13, 2011 7:51 am

watch in HD on YouTube

"The Grafting," the title track from John Schlitt's 3rd solo CD "The Grafting," 2008 (video 2011). Directed by Andrew Manzano of The Sound Tank, "The Grafting" tells the story of a little adopted baby - and the meeting with his birth mother many years later. The video features a full cast of characters, live action - and John Schlitt, of course!

AWESOME.

I love the way that John sings this song as he were telling a story. Awesome.
Good video and reflexive lyric.

Thanks sue d. for sharing it.

Very powerful. Very well done. Great message. I like it alot. It's refreshing to see something like that in the face of all the bad news you hear in a day's time.

So many music videos that come out today are so pointless, with nothing whatsoever to do with the song. I like how this one is: Catchy tune, wonderful lyrics, but besides that, you could catch the story behind it just by watching the video unfold. I was very impressed with it!

Way to go John!!

"Pethead" is not a title. It's a way of life.

Rock, that's just what John was saying today - so many vids are of someone singing into a mic, and nothing more... not too exciting.

Andrew Manzano did an amazing job with this... he gets all the credit!

I did too... and that was before it was even finished! I was just watching the storyline with the tracks, along with the director. Amazing how a video can move you, even if you've heard the song a million times. Like they say, a picture's worth a thousand words.

We have so much to talk about these last few months that many topics drop down hardly unnoticed!

My wife and I personally did not like the video. It seemed dated in it's look and cliche in our opinion. Seemed likesomething I would have seen on Ztv in the early 90's right down to the wardrobe. However we both said it will at least keep John in front of people during all this Classic Petra "nonsense". JUST KIDDING about the nonsense. Or am I?

Great video! I don't really like the music, but the message is timely and Godly; the video enhances the song 100%. It's hard to find current and God driven out of the same artist nowadays and John has done that.

I think the wardrobe is ok because it would've been mid to late 80's when the adopted baby was born.

The place where the wardrobe breaks down (to me) is when the kid goes to see his mother after he is grown. I mean the girl, when she was young, obviously looked like a teenage girl from the late 80's, which means when he goes to see her she's probably 40 ish, but she's dressed like she's 60. I'm sorry, I don't know any of the girls I went to high school with who would dress like that now. Their mom's maybe, but not them.

She looks pretty normal 40 to 50ish for low to lower-middle income to me. I would dress like that if it was cold enough.
