There are some strong versions on songs on DT like "Just Reach Out" & "Praying Man", plus I do like the earth tones of DT. The only song I like from The Grafting would be "Only Men". The Grafting has somewhat of a country feel on some tracks and I just can't get passed that.

Only Men & Gravity are the my favorites from Grafting, I haven't listened to double take in years, but Beat the System and Just Reach Out, Coloring Song were favorites..

I like every song on the Grafting 8) Know all of them by heart, sing 'em in the car (and elswhere). Youth group really likes it too.

As for Double Take, I never could get into it. I did like Just Reach Out, maybe because they didn't change it to be totally unrecognizable. I actually include some elements of the DT version when I perform JRO live. Adds in some interest factor, and the two versions blend very nicely.
I also liked The Longing, but other than that, they're the only two songs I listen to.

"Pethead" is not a title. It's a way of life.

I had to vote for The Grafting, which I don't like very much, but that tells you just how bad I think Double Take is.

The Grafting was way too mellow for me. The only track I occasionally listen to would be Gravity. I can't remember the last time I've listened to the whole album. Maybe I should give it another listen some time soon.

I can still remember when I got Double Take. A friend of mine had a pre-release and he dubbed it to a cassette for me, so I had it a while before it was released. I don't care for the Pete Orta track. My favourites would definitely be Praying Man and Dance. Those are really excellent re-imagined songs.

I like both albums, but I'm going with the Grafting.

Also want to say as far as Double Take is concerned, I LOVE their remix of This Means War. So awesome.

I liked The Grafting better. Original tunes that didn't mess up the melodies of classics. There were a couple of songs on DT that were fun to hear once but never replaced the originals in the car deck.

I don't like either album very well... but I'd say the Grafting is better because it has an excuse... DT was a collection of songs that could sound good, but were done so horribly that it's almost unbearable (wait, It actually is unbearable!). I've only listened to the Grafting for free on schlittshop.com, and thought, "this is alright, but not worth $12". For Double Take I thought, "this isn't worth buying, and it isn't worth listening to, either." Of course, I can't blame Petra for sounding lame; I don't know any good music that was made between 1993 and 2002!
