so, does this mean we need to revisit some questions here?

Record contract or Indie from here on out?
Will they sing "Too Big To Fail"? I would love to hear John sing it
Is there more to come with John Lawry in the works?

I don't think you will hear "Too Bring To Fail"
Capitol seems to be interested in doing something else with them; they put out the Greatest Hits this year. I'm hearing maybe a 2 record deal with a medium budget, but its really too early in the equation to put anything in concrete.
John Lawry could be part of the studio and production process but that would probably be the extent of it. Lawry is doing a one show with Petra but had to be begged to do it by the promoters. I would be shocked if you see Lawry get back out on the road for any reason with Petra, Classic Petra, or really for anyone else.

I think something needs to be worked out between Word and Capitol to bring all of Petra's albums on Word over to Capitol and let them take control of the entire catalog. It just makes sense and EMI seems to have the right ideas when it comes to Classic Rock and Legendary Artists.

The only thing I can think of is Word doesn't usually let go of their masters and rights, but Amy Grant was able to pull it off when she launched her own label with Capitol / EMI.

That's not unusual for a concert. It saves the lead singer's pipes.

(Unless you mean a lower key than what they usually play live.)

This is not uncommon and even back in the 80's-90's Petra was playing in a lower key than what was recorded on their current albums.

There are however some songs they played higher than they did on the record. I was listening to some live tunes the other day on-line and compared them to the record. I was really surprised.

John sounded fantastic on Monday night in Steinbach! Great show, especially since their drummer couldn't enter the country and they had to train a new drummer in 2 1/2 hours! Needless to say, almost half of the concert was done acoustically as a result.

You know it's bad when thousands of illegals can get in the U.S. everyday, and Petra's drummer can't even get in the right way.

The illegal alien side is all Nolan Ryan's fault; he is the biggest person stopping the federal government from building the wall. The large private land owners(that own land along the border) in Texas are stopping the building of the wall. These land owners do not want the Feds to take over their properties...

Actuely it was Canada he couldn't get into. I watched a video of a part of the concert and have to say they did very well on a stand in drummer.

I know that John has a new album out. But has there been any official talk of a new Petra album with all new music?

You mean the Easter album? It will get your fur up. Keep an ear to the ground, otherwise you will have to hunt for it. I am eggcited to hear it. Sorry about dangling the carrot.

Where did you hear anything somewhat official about an Easter Album? I know I've said something but it was more wishful thinking than anything; I do know all parties(Petra/Capitol) are very interested in doing an album but I'm not sure about the content or anything.

I know it was Canada; just making a point about why the border has yet to be sealed here in Texas.
