I downloaded mp3s from Petrafiles.com... There was verion of "Awesome God" in a live recording: "Petra - Live @ Wake Up Call Tour 1994
2CD 11-May-1994, Free Trade Hall, Manchester, United Kingdom)".
I'm just wondering if there is any Petra recording somewhere of this song, but with better recording quality?
I also found it a bit amusing to hear the keyboard solo just before the song. It sound like the guitar of "No Doubt"!
Another funny thing was to hear Bob's guitar solo (Before "I Am on the Rock")... Sounded exactly like the one on the Farewell CD! Seems like Bob Hartman used the same guitar solo for 11 years then!

Awesome God was only played live, so I don't think you'll be able to find a much better version.

Was it Rich Mullins who made the original?

Yes, it was. He also wrote it.
