Jars of Clay- Yes/No?

Post by cvs2kids » Mon Sep 13, 2004 6:17 am

We get very little (near none) CCM acts near me.

Jars of Clay are coming to town in a couple of months. I'm only luke warm to that style of music anyway, but is it worth $35 to go see them?

Its in a secular venue, not even sure who's sponsoring it.

Opinions ( and remember, this is a Christian board). :D

Jars of Clay are very good live, I've seen them a few times, but I wouldn't pay $35 to see them.

I probably wouldn't pay $35 to see most bands LOL...

New generation

Post by lucianotaz » Thu Sep 16, 2004 11:45 am

I am getting older ... After DC Talk (they are not my favorite band, but they have talent), I didnt find one great artist. I have tried but always I try I was dissapointed. Its sad but is what I feel.

I do not want be offensive but its my opinion.

I dislike the new generation of the CCM. Then I would not go even if they pay U$ 35 for me.

It would absolutely be worth $35!! I've recently seen them at the Flevo Festival in the Netherlands and they were so good. I have their newest album Who we are instead. The tone of the album is so sincere, and I must confess that I've sort of fallen in love with Jars of Clay. Their music can be so fragile, but yet so strong. I wouldn't hesitate a second to buy a ticket!!

I used to sorta like the Jars several years ago. I only heard their first 3 albums. For the most part their music is strange and morose. Especially the album Much Afraid. Later I lost interest in their stuff because of a growing interest in hard rock.

I really, really like a lot of their songs. I just have a hard time listening to most of their CDs in their entirety. Except for *The Eleventh Hour* - I really liked that CD. I've heard most of their CDs, but I haven't heard all of them. Sometimes you have to let certain CDs grow on you to really like them (that's how it was for me with Wake Up Call), so maybe if I kept listening to the ones I think I don't like, maybe I would like them more than I think.

$35? Maybe, maybe not. It would depend on how hard up for cash I am. I wouldn't rule it out because I've heard a lot of great things about their concerts.
