Liberals

Post by LexingtonPethead » Wed Dec 31, 2003 12:56 pm

Hey Sep, I like your tagline. Before I married my wife, I had a litmus test consisting of 2 criteria that I used prior to dating someone new:

1. She had to be a true follower of Christ; and,
2. Must be a conservative Republican.

If either of those were negative, for me, there was nothing there at all.

Lex,

Thanks. Actualy, I frequent this Conservative Politics board found in the dregs of our old home EZBoard, and someone there once posted about 15-20 of these one liners he had come up with regarding liberals, so I told him I was going to borrow a couple for another board I posted on.

Do you mean the old Petrazone? It would be cool to have someplace here to pick on liberals. It's one of my favorite pastimes.

The old messageboard was housed at ezboard.com. That's where the message board I go to is at. It's called American Conservative. Here's the link for ya:

Well, I'm in agreement with the conservative Republicans as far as abortion and homosexual marriage and all that. I don't agree with liberal views, but the Republicans have their problems too.

And I don't say that to be a smart mouth, I do pretty much lean towards the conservative Republican point of view. :)

Well, nobody is perfect... but I have heard that "GOP" stands for God's Own Party....

The problem with Republicans is that we give in to Democrats way too often in the name of "taking the high and noble road". I for one am sick of seeing Republicans in both houses cave to the left. It's never enough and most often creates problems instead of appeasing them.

The big Medicare entitlement that Bush signed off on is a great example.

Thing is, you can't deal with liberals. Extending an olive branch by conceding certain issues is not going to buy you an ounce of favor with them. You have to understand, to a liberal, conservatives are evil and must be defeated at any and all costs. Sure, they'll gladly take any issue we're willing to concede, but you better not turn your back to them for a second or else you'll find a knife in it.

That is so true, Mountain Man. I have never understood how they justify calling conservatives evil. After all, the Democratic Party is a hotbed of abortionists, tree huggers, homosexuals, anti-American / anti-war demonstrators, etc... Have I left anything out?

I have always said that the first thing a person does after they get saved is to become a conservative!

Question: Is it possible to be a liberal Democrat and also a Christian? (Maybe we should poll this one?)

You see though, they're supposed to have freedom under the constitution. Shame that doesn't apply to Christians who are following the Bible. :?

They want rights, but that doesn't apply to anyone else. :P

Shell, everyone can have all the rights they want.

But NOT us Christians.

I still cant find what is so bad about the 10 commanents. Except it brings them to much guilt!!!!!!!

Try not to generalize too much...you may start to sound like those you are ripping on. After all don't forget, Colin Powell is pro-choice.

Well, to be perfectly candid about it, the Bushes are a bit more moderate than I prefer. Bush is growing the government and is somewhat lax on some social issues. Too bad we can't bring Reagan back.

However, Bush is positively a far better choice than anyone else running, namely, the Democrats. And I do like Bush for many reasons.

Just goes to show that labeling someone a Republican doesn't tell the whole story.
