Dann Huff - Co-producer of "Shake"

Post by lucasmcgraw » Fri Jan 30, 2004 1:02 pm

If you are into Christian music at all, you have probably heard of Dann and David Huff. David is one of the original members of Whiteheart and both Dann and David have done a lot of studio work for many artists including John Schlitt. I found this link where Dann is interviewed. Read the interview and let me know what you think.

Somehow I kinda think he got disappointed in some moment of his life about christianity, maybe in something he saw.

I`m agree that we have to preach with our actions but also is important to share the Gospel, yeah, first, with your actions, and LATER talk about Jesus. But that thing about "I`ll just share if people ask me" that`s wrong, if somebody comes to you for advice, you gotta pray so you get the chance to share about Jesus, God said that.

I`m agree we gotta be open to other religions, BEFORE YOU START YELLING LET ME FINISH LOL, I mean that we shall never attack other religions, remember one thing is the person and another one the religion, the best way to reach someone for Jesus is to not attack them.

But that about "all ways leads to God" that`s not true, in that case, why Jesus died for us? why God bothered with the Bible if anyways "all ways leads to Him"?.

Well, I don`t have time for typing a whole essay about my opinion hehehehe.

I`m agree with people learn about other religions, is good to be inform but always stick to the Bible, to Jesus, never leaving one thing for other.

God says "or you are with me or you are not" , I think that says it all.

Wow... he sure has some... ahem... "interesting" beliefs. I guess when Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father except by me" (MJ paraphrase) Jesus was just kidding around. And when He said that we should preach the Gospel wherever we go, He was speakign metaphorically. I'm glad Dann loves his kids and I'm glad he's a Christian, but he's sure not going to do much for the Kingdom with unBiblical ideas like that.

This man openly admits to believing that simply being born in a Christian society is what makes one a Christian. He participates in the ordinances, but obviously has never had a life-changing experience with Christ.

My remarks may seem judgemental, but they aren't. I'm merely pointing out what he said.

In fact, it's because of people like Dann Huff who ascribe to this line of logic who somehow end up in ministry that makes me a bit leary of these so called "Christians in a band" groups that make no direct references to Christ. Not to bring up a dead horse here since this has been hashed and rehashed, but if a band claims to minister to people yet they don't make their beliefs known publically, there is obviously a good chance for heresy to creep in under our noses.

Just look at this guy. He was in Whiteheart, and we all know that Whiteheart was a spiritually solid band! If it can happen to a band of this calibre, it can even more easily happen in bands that don't make their faith positions clear.

That scares me, and I have a problem with people like Dann Huff having anything to do with ministry.

I know there is no guarantee that everyone in a Christian band is on the same page theologically, but to me, it helps to know what the band believes as stated in their music.

inclusivism

Post by Michael » Wed Feb 04, 2004 8:52 am

What is the most troubling to me is that recently just on this board we have seen several examples of this kind of religious inclusivism. (We've seen it here in the Tulsa church scene, too... an extremely high-profile pastor here came out a year or two ago preaching that everyone will be saved in the end.) If that kind of thing is starting to bubble to the surface, it probably means that it's been underground for quite some time. I just wonder how many in the CCM industry have these kinds of beliefs?

If it's as many as you might guess from the fact that some are becoming brave enough to say it in interviews, that would explain the steady movement of much of CCM away from an evangelistic focus. They don't try to evangelize because they don't think Hell is someplace that people are going to burn in agony forever.
