You know... it might be a cool thing to come up with another tradition for Valentine's Day that doesn't require one to be in a "couple." Maybe make a point to really show someone they are special for no reason... just a family member or friend or something. Or do something for charity. Or take a bike ride, or go someplace special, or spend the whole day doing something totally silly and fun. Watch a favorite movie, not a romance but maybe something silly, especially if nobody will ever watch it with you (Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, anyone??) And do the same thing every year, maybe even once you DO have a significant other! That way the day once again becomes something to look forward to.

Elo, I pretty much agree. It annoys me when couples are always emphasizing V-day, and commercialism in general annoys me. That part of it is, of course, even worse on Christmas.

I don't need stuff ... no cards, no presents. Kinda hope I find a wife who agrees.

amigovia is a word that you won`t find on a dictionary, is something made up.

For example, I say she is your girlfriend, you say she is not, but she goes out with you many times and hold hands once in a while, you guys just go out with each others hehehe. So, as a joke, we would say she is your "amigovia" (a mix of da words amigo and novia hehehe).
