Bloodgood Kickstarter

Post by zak89 » Thu Jul 04, 2013 9:22 am

I hope I don't get kicked off the board as a spammer with all the Kickstarter links I've been posting.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/557 ... n-22-years

First new album from these guys in over two decades. Stylistically I was never a huge fan but they had some powerful songs, especially the "Crucify"/"Messiah" duology. They already have the songs ready to go, and are raising a relatively small 15k towards recording/production. I'm hoping they can best that goal.

Can't say I'm not happy that so many CCM artists of yesteryear are finding a new lease on life in this vein. Now I'm wondering who might be next. I like that question. :)

Nice, I will be giving to this for sure. BTW this is a good thing your doing with posting these; this is a great reason to have "the other topics" page like we do.

Yep, he's still with the band. He's already started laying down guitar tracks if I recall correctly.

Hit the goal, and $1000+ so far. Love the theme for the new album as well. "Dangerously Close". 8)

The whole album is suppose to be centered around the return of Christ which is really a cool idea. Oz Fox has been quoted as saying this is the best material he has ever been a part of; which I guess kind of disses Stryper and MSweet somewhat.

To be fair, songwriting has never really been Stryper's strong point (at least IMO). Lyrically their songs tend to be simplistic, especially compared to Bloodgood's writing (or Petra for that matter). Oz is still touring and recording with Stryper.

I'm just waiting for the White Heart Kickstarter to get going.... and then maybe Whitecross.... 8)

Never said he wasn't touring or still a band member for Stryper, just stating what he said.

Bloodgood's Kickstarter was very successful; They met their goal and then some. This fall a new John Schlitt album, a new Bloodgood album, a new Stryper album(BTW you need to go to Stryper.com and look at the album cover, really awesome).
Possible spring releases of all new Petra, White Heart, Whitecross, and sources are telling me that Rez Band might be looking at something new. Glen Kaiser quote "Rez is not retired or done, but just on the backburner simmering and seeing what God has planned". These next 2 years could be historic!!!!

They came within a few hundred short of 25k. According the Michael, the additional funding has already secured them mastering job by David Zaffiro (the band's founding guitarist), plus additional studio time. Pretty impressive.

Add Sweet Comfort Band to the list of returning CCM stalwarts - they didn't use Kickstarter for their new album, but it's still a very fine project. http://officialsweetcomfortband.com

The more I get info about this album the more I can't wait. I think this will top Stryper's new one for me.

I heard a demo version of the song Man in the Middle It sounded pretty good. I think it's supposed to be on this album was written back in 2010 I believe.

Yes I've got that song in DL form that they sent me a couple years back, but I'm not sure if they plan to put it on the album; I asked around and either no one seems to know or were not willing to tell me. I will say that the bits and pieces I've heard from the album reminds me of their first 2 albums.
