It's cool with me, but not sure if its really needed; It seems that politics usually somehow start out on the main page and eventually get moved over to the Off Topics.

No, and here is why:
many folks can not seem to talk politics, they yell politics. Also, this is Petra fan board. I'm pretty sure there are message boards dedicated to political discussion. And one more thing, let's not kid ourselves,a political forum would probably be U.S. centered, if previous posts are any indicator, and they are.
