Re: Newsboys Canadian Tour Cancelled

If the updates on the Newsboys Wikipedia article are accurate, then I don't think a simple confession and "I'm seeking counseling" is going to do it. If Tait is serious about repenting, then restitution needs to happen, and he should forget about being a celebrity or trying to turn his redemption st...

Re: Newsboys Canadian Tour Cancelled

There's no coming back from this. The band and everybody involved with it is finished. I wonder how far this will go? Because there was also Newsboys United where Peter Furler and Phil Joel toured with the new band members from 2017 to 2021. Did they all know? Furler is a prominent figure in the Chr...

Re: Good news!!

Personnel? You mean the band itself? I'm assuming it's John, Bob, John Lawry, Greg Bailey, and Christian Bonero. Content is very hard to predict. I don't think it's going to be a straight up rocker like Jekyll and Hyde . I'm expecting more along the lines of Wakeup Call or the Union of Sinners and S...

Re: Good news!!

This will almost certainly be the last Petra album, so here's hoping they go out on a high note.

Re: Good news!!

Hmm...I only hope it's not self-produced like Back to the Rock II was. I never bothered with Back to the Rock II , so I don't know what its production values are like, but since I doubt anybody gave Bob and the gang a big pile of money to make an album, then it will very likely be self-produced, al...

Re: Newsboys Canadian Tour Cancelled

This whole situation keeps reminding me of a quote by Bill Gaither on a documentary about Russ Taff. Paraphrasing, he basically said that if you want perfect people to make Christian music, there won't be any. I understand that we're all sinners, but I don't have a problem holding Christian musicia...

Don't blame the Devil. We Christians are more then capable of getting into a mess all by ourselves.

Are these new recordings? Or is it just the record label dipping back into the same old well?
One could only wish these were new recordings, but they are indeed "dipping back into the same old well."
With any luck, we'll eventually get Best For Last: Live Edition.

Re: Ken Tamplin isn't who we thought

I still listen to Shout and Tramplin's solo albums occasionally because it's reasonably good music, but I'm no longer awed by the vocals like I used to be.

Re: The Petra remastered project

Honestly, there aren't any of Petra's CDs that need "remastering". The original releases all sound great.

Re: do you put cds in binders?

Jewel cases for me, stashed away in a cabinet that I never touch. All my music these days is in CD quality flac files that I listen to on a digital audio player. It has been probably 15 years since I've actually listened to a CD itself, and several CDs in my collection have only been out of the case...

Yeah, I know there's a lot of studio magic that goes into making an album, but the guys are still somewhere in the mix doing their thing.

Re: Back to the rock live trade or sell

Classic Petra was a short-lived and only moderately successful project, and I don't think there were many copies of either the CDs or DVD made, so they're likely pretty rare. You can actually find the entire show on YouTube, so I suppose you could always download it with your favorite YouTube downlo...
