white heart

I know this isn't a Petra topic...although White Heart and Petra did tour together once..but does anyone know where I could get a copy of White Heart's Hotline or Vital Signs CD's?

Sight Unseen video

Do any of you know if Palm Springs, CA (or just east of)...where there are probably hundreds if not thousands of windmills along I-10 is where Petra filmed their Sight Unseen video (and was also the inspiration for the Unseen Power album cover art)? I was on vacation out in Los Angeles and drove by ...

I have found something to like in just about every Petra CD...but I agree that No Doubt started a trend where their sound started to change. But, I think their best stuff, in my opinion, was from This Means War to Unseen Power. When I first heard God Fixation, I didn't like it too much, but just a f...

Box set greatest hits?

Instead of doing more greatest hits CDS...I wish they would do a really big box set...like a 4 or 5 CD thing of remastered songs....unreleased stuff...rare live recordings. etc.

Wal Mart in Danville, Ky had 3 copies. Wal Mart in Stanford had none. Stores are about 10 miles apart.

I don't anyone would carry "Petra's torch" now. Back in the 90s right around "Beyond Belief" or "Unseen Power" had they disbanded maybe. However..as far as a band being as popular or similar in terms of musical style or ministry, I would say Third Day is probably the closest. Some of the guys in Thi...

Halo disbanded after their second album..however their lead vocalist, Scott Springer recorded one solo album a few years later that had a slightly more AC sound than that of Halo's second disc. Their guitarist, Barry Graul has played for everyone from Whitecross, DC Talk to Mercy Me since. Not sure ...

Shophar....to pick up Petra's reigns in the early 90s.

You know we should all feel fortunate that Petra lasted as long as they did. I know that at one point in the early 90s...probably around 1990 or 1991 that Petra was considering calling it quits and their management was looking for a band that could fit their sound style and go with it. Around that s...

I called the Family Christian Store in Lexington, Kentucky (Mist Lake Plaza) and they said that didn't have any yet.. but that they would have a couple on the way. The clerk was very nice....said "they always carry everything Petra." They wanted to ring me up for one already! I said "no thanks" (I a...

I can't believe some of the things I am reading in this post. I'm reminded of the bible verse where we should focus on things that "build others up." I am EXTREMELY thankful we've even getting another album. When I found out that Petra was breaking up at the end of the year, I thought J and Hyde was...

Family Christian

I find it very interesting that you can go to numerous sites all over the web...everything from the Christian music web sites to Best Buy.com...wal mart's web site, etc., yet when you go to Family Christian Store's web site and enter "Petra Farewell," no records come up! Isn't that just SAD!!!! :( I...

I started liking Petra ALOT in the This Means War era after Greg X left, but I still really liked Greg's solo stuff, especially The River is Rising. All I Can Do is probably one of the best Christian songs ever made, in my opinion. Greg X played Ichthus as a solo artist and his concert (with Pieces ...

I for one thought Beat the System sounded mostly like bubble gum music. Petra was a rock band at the time...and BTS was like programmed music. I'm not surprised that Louie didn't play on that album....but I am surprised that he actually played on very few Petra albums.

I really like the track list. For one, 14 songs is great....and the medleys actually make it seem longer than 14 songs. I really don't care that Lord I Life Your Name On High isn't on there because some radio, espcially KLove wears it out....actually it's one of only a few Petra songs they play. Plu...

I don't think CCM only caters to groups that are "attractive" or "fit" and "thin." There several groups or artists that are doing well and do not fit this image. Look at Big Daddy Weave. What about Bart Millard in Mercy Me? To be honest...when I first start listening to Petra...I didn't think they w...
