Re: Dream Team 2012!!!

I'm not sure the tour was a promise anyway, I think it was a plan.

Re: TBN airing of BTTR

According to a response Michael did on the ClassicPetra blog, they will do another DVD after the second album comes out, but he mentioned it would be another TBN one. My hope is that since that is so far off they can change it to a real live DVD since that is obviously what the fans want.

Re: John vs Greg IMO

I believe what Bob said on the revival DVD was John has a "more progressive rock voice". I may have to dust that sucker off and watch it again...it's been a while. :) I personally love both, having been listening to Petra since Never Say die, and remembering my parents having the LP of Come & Join U...

Re: Vibrato in Jekyll & Hyde

I'd noticed that too, and it's definitely something that the producer coulda said "let's do it again" because John can hold a note like it's nobody's business, whether it's a high rockin' one or a lower smooth one. His singing always amazed me. A lot of rock singers who have that raspy sound and ful...

Re: To Big Schlitt vs. Hartman

I believe John's "too Big" was written by Ronny Cates. For me the beginning guitar strums and drum beat of "God is too Big" remind me of the Jackson 5 for some reason.

Re: Petra video shoot and TV show practices

I understand it may be needed with singers who can't sing as well, but I don't understand why CP would use it in the studio. If a vocal doesn't sound good in the studio isn't that when the producer would say to the singer "gotta try that line again"? What does it take, an extra couple minutes to re-...

question on live recording...

I was just wondering, after reading about the show last night, is what they did typical for a DVD recording? Were people jipped, or is this the standard for such events. Thanks!

Re: Lead break on Let Everything.....

Actually, though I may be wrong, but I believe that's John Lawry on a very cool sounding keyboard. I also think he may have done the second part of the solo on Angel of Light. Something about the style and the sound of it is making me think this.

Dana Key from Degarmo & Key

All this talk about Classic Petra had me doing some web searches about some other favorites from back in the day. A webpage dedicated to Degarmo & Key mentioned that Dana Key passed away this past June. This news saddens me, grateful as I am that he is with the Lord. Was anyone here aware of this? I...

Re: Album art released @ classicpetra.com

I believe this is a definite nod to More Power To Ya, as those spaceships look very much like the backs of the one from MPTY. Plus, look at the mountainous structure to the right of the dude's hammer...that is very darn close to the same thing that is on the back of the MPTY album cover. Very cool!
