song order

I have the cassette and the cd, and both have the same song order. I've seen the album on Ebay before. I'm pretty sure that "I'm Not Ashamed" would be the closer on the album as well, just by the way they end the song.

drawing a blank...

Hey guys! I was checking out John's website and the poll on Schlittisms, and I can't place what "HaChaCha" is from. Can anyone clue me in? Thanks!

keyboards...

The thing with keyboards in rock music nowadays is that they seem to be used more as sound effects with bleeps and blurps rather than as having a musical impact (as in the John Lawry days). It seems that in a lot of the new ROCK bands that have keyboardists, it's almost as if someone said "hey, we'r...

Sue...

Sue, do you mean that management won't even give you dates to put on John Schlitt's official webpage? If that's the case, that's a shot against John personally, not just the band. And why would a manager want to intentionally limit a band's exposure anyway? Just some thoughts I was wondering about.....

name recognition...

Petra won because of name recognition? Oh, that makes sense since they've won the grammy every year. Oopps, they haven't won it every year that they've had an album out...so much for that argument! :)

surprised

I'm a little surprised that Petra's official webpage hasn't mentioned this incredible "can't believe it's actually happening" event. I mean, this is big news to us Petra fans and is big Petra news in general. Oh well. Later!

a new cd would be cool...

I would love the next cd to have a sound that would sound like a natural progression from J&H. More instrumental breaks, some classic sounding songs in the vein of Rose Colored Stained Glass Windows with swapping acoustic and electric parts, and background vocals that encompass more harmony. Actuall...

Does INPOP know?

Is there anyway to see if INPOP is aware of this concert? Since many of it's members seem to be PETRA fans, I wonder if they would be willing to make a more professional recording of it. Either way, something like this...basically a once-in-a-lifetime event, needs to archived somehow.

I have to agree...

As someone who listens to only secular radio (no Christian stations in my neck of the woods), I have to agree that Petra is in tune with the secular rockers' sound. There are so many screamers in secular rock, both the classic rockers and hard/punk rockers. The difference is that few could pull off ...

it's just the chorus...

With both Seen and Not Heard and I Am On The Rock, it's just the choruses that sound like the secular counterparts mentioned. The rest of the songs' music stands on its own. If you want to talk about bands recycling the same music, listen to all the punk rockers who slam the same three chords around...

just be careful

Try not to generalize too much...you may start to sound like those you are ripping on. After all don't forget, Colin Powell is pro-choice.

...

I see some of BillDD's points, but I don't necessarily agree about a ministry not being a ministry because someone gets paid for it. My pastor receives a salary. Of course, he doesn't get paid nearly enough for all the work he does. I mean 50-60 hours a week for $25 grand or so? Anyway, I think Petr...
