Petra Cover Band from 1985
I just stumbled upon a Youtube channel called : AlterSpaceMan. It has videos of recordings by a band called Second Coming, done in 1985. They recorded NOTW, God Pleaser, Disciple, and Chamelon. They sound pretty good for the time, specially the lead singer and the guitar player do both Greg and Bob ...

Re: Greg era fans question
I was in 10th grade when I heard first of Petra. A friend of mine had given me cassette copies of CITAS and This Means War in 1988. To me at the time they both were the same band and could not tell the difference. I was instantly hooked right then. I was not until On Fire came out and I saw band pic...

Re: Any news
For the life of me, i have never understood how if John has been able to succcesfully fund not one, but two independently released albums of new material on his own with great production, how come Petra can not do the same with a bigger fan base than John alone. As you have seen, the problem is not ...

Re: Any news
I don't like it, but it sounds like it. Since we never got an official statement on the Classic Petra demise, instead we were told they were taking a break for 2013, I don't know what to expect. It seems that they always want to keep things open just in case. We'll see.

Re: Highest note sung?
Check out John's vocals at the end of " You Are I Am", just before the guitar solo on "Altar Ego" and The initial scream in Mine Field". Now those are really high! Way higher than those on Greg's songs.

Re: Petra Dream Team Reunion visual approach
Oh, i said who I got the information from. Band members and both Management teams, not from disgruntled promoters. But its ok. As long as we agree that Louie is not an evil person and he has the same quirkiness as any other Petra member for that matter, i am ok. I think Exe's comments carry a lot of...

Re: Petra Dream Team Reunion visual approach
I am someone that has had the blessing of being able to develop a friendship with said people, so much so that details about the situation were discussed with me in various occasions during the 2 years that Classic Petra was together. Don't ask me why they discussed this with me. We just became frie...

Re: Petra Dream Team Reunion visual approach
I had direct communication with the Nachtigals, Dean Capone, Bob Hartman and John Lawry and I assure you Louie had nothing to do with Classic Petra failing. It was due to other internal conflicts between other members that were entrusted to me, and I have no right discussing here. The comments about...

Petra Is Done
Don't you guys think that sadly this has been the end of Petra forever? With the non-formal demise of Classic Petra, the failed never viable Classic Rock Tour, and the Farewell Tour part 5 that never materialized, i don't know how Petra can survive after these failures. I love Petra, but these have ...

Re: Head East live footage
I am amazed about how great my Head East Live! CD sounds. It's one of the best concert CDs I have. John sounds incredible and it gives me an Idea of how a Petra Live CD with John would have sounded if done on their heyday. John even does all the same moves he still does today on that footage from He...

Classic Petra Gone?
Did anybody notice that both the Official Classic Petra Website as well as their Facebook page have been taken down? It's sad.

Re: Happy Birthday, John Schlitt
The first Petra concert in Puerto Rico was in 1988, during the This Means War tour. There is bootleg out there from that show made by Trodlan from a casette tape I gave him years ago. Some people in the Zone might have it. Trodlan did a great job with pictures of the band and Puerto Rico.

Re: Happy Birthday, John Schlitt
I also saw him in Puerto Rico on the Shake tour in the City of Carolina, but he had a band of local musicians, some who i knew personally, and they played the record note by note. He only used tapes for the Petra songs on the set. I have seen him live about 10 times since 1995, and as always, a very...
