I've always thought I heard hints of Genesis and AC/DC on the first two Petra albums. I never even thought of Jethro Tull. I'll have to take another listen. But I've never been too comfortable comparing Petra to other bands. They really do have a distinct sound, and although it's changed over time, ...

Nice of me? I didn't do it to be nice, I did it because I have an obligation to speak up. (So do you, by the way.) Maybe I won't be heard, but at least I'll be making the effort.

I think it's possible to be thoughtful and diplomatic about this. I wrote this email: Sir, I have a real problem with your recent comments and actions with regard to the Teen Mania rally held in San Francisco. It is not intolerant or hateful for religious people to practice their faith in accordance...

Family Christian in Fargo, ND had three on the shelf when I stopped in late yesterday. I paid 9.97 for my copy.

Two other chain stores in town, Wal-Mart and the Rainbow Shop, didn't have the DVD.

I'm in complete agreement that the Inpop bashing is unfair. But I think it's fair and reasonable to express an opinion about the quality of the DVD itself. I gave away three copies of the Farewell CD because I think it's phenomenal. But I don't care for the camera work on the DVD. I find it annoying...

I found the video really aggravating. I like to watch musicians play, but the shaky camera and the constant zoom in, zoom out, zoom in, zoom out is irritating. The camera seldom focuses on anything for more than a split second, and that detracts from my enjoyment of the video. It was like artificial...

All the King's Horses - this song has Petra's greatest guitar break, and it's just a short little tossoff. I've found that a lot of people really love the guitar work in this song. Talking to some musician friends, it seems the consensus is that sometimes a series of notes just clicks, like the tota...

What in the world is going on with Inpop.com?

So I goes to inpop.com and here's the message I get:
This domain has just been registered for one of our customers!

Is Inpop in deep doo-doo, or are they just switching hosts? What's going on?

Inpop, thank you for your efforts on Petra's behalf. You've helped Petra give a lot of people a lot of pleasure for the last few years, and that's something to be happy about.

I hope your financial investment pays off, too.

The Beatles were innovative and trend-setters. The things they did back then that were groundbreaking are now trite. That doesn't mean they weren't a great band; it means they've been copied and mimicked to death. Nirvana was a very good band, and Dave Grohl probably had as much to do with that as C...
