My vote went to Second Wind, look at the screen name and go figure. Great songs on this album. Second Wind, Stand Up, Judas Kiss, Rose Colored, Run for the Prize the title track all should be on any "Greatest Hits" list. This was the first album where the Petra songs were every bit as good as anythi...

This was the first good 'album'. The first three albums had a couple of good songs and could have been combined into one good effort. Never Say Die was the first one you could play all the way through for a friend and not have to apologize for the weaker songs. Also marked the beginning of a more so...

I have been a fan since More Power To Ya. I lost contact but got drug back in for This Means War. Since then I have bought every album as soon as it came out. Loved every album since then through Wake Up Call, although I thought Unseen Power was a bit of lesser outing. When No Doubt came out the fir...

No Doubt is where the throttle got pushed forward and the plane started going down. The next three albums did nothing to right the ship and the constant personel changes only made it worse. After that the touring slowed to a trickle and that makes a recipe for disaster. Thank goodness for Jeckyl and...

Until Jeckyl and Hyde came out, I was thinking that Wake Up Call would be remembered as the last great Petra album. As far as God Fixation being a forgotten album, it's not. Not in the sense that it is not remembered. just not that memorable. There are a few good tracks on it, but a lackluster effor...

Re: petra & kiss
has anyone else noticed that the guitar part in seen and not heard sounds like the chorus in kiss' heavens on fire. anyone else have any thoughts on that? And ironically the next year Kiss redid 'God Gave Rock 'n' Roll To You' for the Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey soundtrack. The coincidence is just...

Point blank, Petra should have put 'God Gave Rock 'n' Roll To You' on it. Two reasons. First it was their first 'hit' song. Would have been nice bookends to finish with it. Secondly, think of the lyrics to the song. Before Petra how much Christian Rock was there. They broke the mold of what Christia...

What did I think of Greg Volz's version of "Dream On"? You probably shouldn't ask me. I'm not one of Greg's biggest fans anyway, and that song had me longing for something I never thought I would long for -- Steven Tyler. It just didn't seem right to me. There are so many good Christian songs out t...

But John? He's a singer whose voice is so recognizable as Petra - he can't really just jump in somewhere. Plus there's the age factor, that preconceived notion that anyone over 50 can't sing rock & roll. I tend to disagree. Is this any harder a leap than when he went from Head East to Petra? He alr...

Re: Dawsonville and Murphy
The world still seems a little surreal to me. Lets see. In the last five days I have been in 5 states, seen 3 concerts, checked into 3 hotels, but only slept in 2, driven 32 hours and logged almost 2000 miles (only 50 of which were unnecessary, contrary to what it seemed!). So I take it you were...
