Re: Life update I guess :)
Sounds good that you seem to be doing well. Glad to hear it. It’s funny how life changes as we get older, and how we change along with it. Musical tastes are a strange thing for sure. So many moments in life can be shaped, enhanced and defined by our music. My own musical journey began with 70s and...

Life update I guess :)
Hii Petra people!! I haven't been on here in at least a year, lol. I don't have much reason to be, now, I guess. But it's been about 7 years since I joined, and I used to post a lot. My interests have changed dramatically since I first started listening to and discovering music and stuff for myself,...

Re: Ken Tamplin isn't who we thought
I'm sorry, this is rather funny to me, and it definitely shouldn't be. It doesn't surprise me that a lot of these guys kind of come out of their "Christian" shell and prove to us that it was indeed, mostly for the money, but I did almost consider joining Ken's course back when I was 11 or 12, hahaha...

Re: Petra cassettes
Cassettes are aesthetically cool, but not worth replacing your CDs with. You have the Japanese First Pressing of Back to the Street!!! Took me years to get a copy! If you are looking for cassettes anyways, try eBay. I was looking up Petra cassettes the other day looking for Trax and there are many ...

Re: Are there any "good" Christian Rock Bands anymore?
:) :) :) :) So, for all my insistence of being a 80s child who won't listen to almost any record more recent than '95 Haha- same for me a lot of the time, even though I'm certainly not an 80s kid :) I agree with everything everyone has said here. I feel more comfortable listening to just non Christi...

Re: Are there any "good" Christian Rock Bands anymore?
I've have seen Skillet live, but not in a secular context. In a Christian setting such as a festival, they are very open about their faith, but not preachy. They let you know they are Jesus Freaks, but then they keep on playing. It's my impression that in a secular environment, they don't even go t...

Re: analysis: Why do we stop exploring new music as we get older?
To be honest, lyrics in popular music, secular or Christian, are rarely great, so I don't pay much attention to them, but I think music is greater than the sum of its parts, so I can still enjoy it even if some of the individual pieces may be mediocre. That said, two lyricist I particularly enjoy a...

Snows upon snows upon snows

Can't believe there's ever a period where I sweat, be it only a couple months, it still seems impossible that that kind of weather could ever exist!
